(WHERE IS MY CHECK?). Hi Everyone, just sending out my friendly reminder regarding "checks". We continuously keep getting questions about "where is my check?". Pls feel free to have these discussions on set so those who need this info can receive. Basic guidelines are (Sag checks will usually be mailed within 15 business days after working, add in weekends & add in 3-5 days for the USPS to deliver checks & that gives you roughly around 30 days after working for checks to arrive). (For Non Union talent, anyone who works the 1st-15th checks should be mailed by end of that month. Anyone who works the 15th-31st checks should be mailed by the 15th of the following month. Again after the USPS takes 3-5 days to delver that check that gives you roughly around 30 days after working for checks to arrive). There is no need to contact us, the casting company or the production company/agency regarding checks. All checks are processed & paid by the PAYROLL COMPANY handling that job, that information should be listed on your paperwork, do NOT leave set without a photo or copy of every page of your paperwork & without knowing who the PAYROLL company is (if it is not listed nicely ask the AD department to provide that info before leaving set). Examples of payroll companies are: (Extreme Reach Payroll, Team Services Payroll, Talent Partners Payroll, etc). Due to identity theft reasons, the payroll company needs to speak to all talent directly if you have a question about a check. So after roughly 30 days has passed, pls contact the payroll company directly if you have a question about your check. Might be a good idea to keep an organized list of all the payroll companies in town, their contact info, emails, etc, most of that info should be listed on your paperwork that they give you on set, it is also listed on the paystubs that you get in the mail. Some of you need the payroll company info anyway for unemployment purposes, the payroll company is considered your employer (the company who is paying you is your employer) we, nor casting, nor production/agency are the employer, the employer is the PAYROLL company (the entity paying you). I know that will be confusing for some, but the unemployment office needs the payroll company info when they ask for the employer of record. If you have any questions about this, pls feel free to ask the full time extras you see on set, they should be up to date with this info & can explain it further. Basically do not set without knowing who the PAYROLL company is (that info is listed on your paperwork) & pls allow at least 30 days for that payroll company to mail you that check. Once again you can contact the payroll company anytime if you have questions about your check. Thank you everyone for your hard work as always !!! Hope to see you all soon on a job.
