They thought nobody was watching... Then they heard a voice...

At first glance, it’s just a few kids sitting on one of our Mobile Surveillance Units (MSUs) where they shouldn’t be, but what happens next shows why active monitoring matters.

Within seconds of them laying on our MSU, one of our in-house Monitoring Specialists came over the speaker and told them to leave.

The reaction says it all.
They scrambled off the unit and took off so quickly that one even had trouble grabbing his shirt off the ground on the way out.

They may have assumed the cameras were simply there to record what happened.
Well... They weren't.

This is something we see time and time again: people assume our cameras are passive just like a majority of the cameras our there until they realize someone is actively watching.

In this case, it was just kids who needed to be told to move along. But that same capability becomes far more important when the person on the property has more serious intentions.

Someone trying to steal, vandalize, trespass, or cause damage doesn't have to know a Monitoring Specialist is watching. They just have to realize it.

That's the difference between just having cameras and having someone behind them.

What happens if the Ascento Guard ever does happen to fall over, or someone actually manages to knock it down?

The Ascento Robotics Guard is incredibly stable, making it very difficult to knock over and it rarely happens. But on the off chance it does lose its footing, it doesn't need someone to come pick it back up.

At the 2nd and final day of the KACP Conference, we showed attendees exactly what happens next: the robot recovers itself, regains its balance, gets back on its wheels, and continues its patrol.

It's a small, yet crucial feature that says a lot about how the robot was designed.

Autonomous security means being prepared for the unexpected, even when it rarely happens.
It's about building a system that can handle the unexpected and get right back to work.

Because true autonomy means being ready for more than just the routine.

The biggest surprise at KACP today wasn't how much attention our technology received.

It was how many people initially assumed they couldn't afford it.

Day one of the Annual Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police Conference brought some incredible conversations. We brought our Alpha Mobile Surveillance Unit, autonomous security robot, and Wall Mount System so attendees could experience these solutions firsthand, not just see them in a brochure.

And yes, the robot turned plenty of heads. But we heard the same thing about all three solutions:
"We could definitely use this."

Then came the hesitation:
"I know they won't pay that much for it."

After a short conversation about what these solutions can actually do, the conversation changed from "How much does it cost?" to "How much value can we get from it?"

That's an important distinction.

The right question isn't simply what a security solution costs. It's what it can enhance, what it can replace, how much coverage it can provide, and what problems it can solve that existing security measures can't.

And it doesn't stop with the technology. The team behind it matters just as much. Can they answer the hard questions? Do they truly understand the technology? Will they deliver what they promise? Can they support the solution long after deployment?

Those are the things that separate a piece of technology from a true security solution.

We're proud of the conversations we've had today, the questions we've answered, and the perspectives we've changed. KACP has been a great reminder of how far mobile surveillance has come, and how much further it still has to go.

You don't have to take our word for it anymore.

Over the past several weeks, we've been sharing real footage captured by our Mobile Surveillance Units because we believe the best way to understand their value is to see them in action.

Not staged demos. Not marketing videos. Real incidents. Real outcomes.
This video is another example.

Two individuals entered a property we protect. Within seconds, one of our 24/7 in-house, TMA-certified Monitoring Specialists addressed them through the unit's live speaker with a simple message:

"We're watching you. You need to leave."

That was all it took.
The individuals immediately turned around and ran off the property.

This is what proactive security looks like. It's not waiting until the next morning to review footage after something has already happened. It's detecting suspicious activity, responding in real time, and helping stop incidents before they have the opportunity to escalate.
