Last Friday, more than 𝟒𝟎 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 came together for another great 3rd Circle meeting, featuring guest speaker 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 and his presentation, “𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦.”

Kyle challenged us to think differently about difficult conversations—especially those involving strong emotions, opposing opinions, and relationships that matter. He shared practical strategies for approaching those moments with greater clarity, intention, and understanding.

But what made the presentation especially meaningful was Kyle's willingness to share his own story. Through a deeply personal example involving his once-strained relationship with his father, he demonstrated how putting these principles into practice helped open the door to reconciliation and a renewed relationship. ❤️

It was a powerful reminder that 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Sometimes the simplest activities create some of the best conversations. 🙌

Last Friday, 𝟑𝟓 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 joined us for one of our favorite 3rd Circle meeting formats: 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬!

With fall break and the rain making for a slightly smaller crowd than usual, we had the perfect setting to dig a little deeper. Each table worked through a series of pre-selected questions designed to move the conversation beyond the usual networking small talk and give everyone an opportunity to genuinely get to know the people around them.

We wrapped things up by coming back together and sharing some of the conversations, takeaways, and connections that came out of the activity—and judging by the feedback afterward, we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed it! Several people told us Table Topics is their 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲.

We're trying something new at 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛!

Over the next few club meetings, we're partnering with our friend Anna Shulgina, founder and creator of 𝐖𝐘𝐍 (𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐭), to pilot a new networking technology designed to help make the time we spend networking more intentional and productive.

There’s a lot of knowledge sitting in the room at a 3rd Circle meeting. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply put it to work. 💡

At our latest meeting, 𝐊𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 led us through another 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝, where members brought real business challenges to the room and invited everyone else to dig in.

We talked sales objections, communicating value, asking better questions, motivating employees, building a sales mindset—and plenty more along the way.

But one of the biggest takeaways was also one of the simplest:
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞.

None of us has all the answers, but there’s a pretty good chance someone else in the room has experience, perspective, or a connection that can help.

Thanks to Ken for leading the conversation and to everyone who jumped in, shared openly, and helped make it such a valuable meeting.

That’s what 3rd Circle is supposed to be. 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭. 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝. 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥.

This post is a little overdue, but this was definitely a meeting worth looking back on!

Even heading into a holiday weekend, we still had 𝟒𝟎+ 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 gathered together for another great 3rd Circle Professionals Club meeting — and a fantastic presentation from our guest speaker, Melanie Love 𝐨𝐟 (𝐔𝐧)𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤.

Melanie shared a fascinating look at the connection between 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 — and, more importantly, gave us some practical techniques we could actually experience and try for ourselves. Based on the feedback we heard afterward, her message definitely resonated with a lot of people in the room!

Of course, the afternoon also included plenty of what makes 3rd Circle… 3rd Circle: new connections, great conversations, a few laughs, and professionals taking the time to genuinely get to know and support one another.

Either way, something happened while ordering the cake for our 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫-𝐓𝐞𝐞 last week that I've found myself thinking about ever since.

It involved a young lady named 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚, something she freely admitted she wasn't very good at, and her willingness to give it a shot anyway.

𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞—and I thought it was worth sharing.
