OHKY Chapter of the commercial interior design association that supports design professionals.

The IIDA Ohio Kentucky Chapter provides meaningful resources to commercial interior designers to elevate and advocate for the profession. Through a network of design leadership, our vision is to positively impact the health and well-being of people's lives by fostering a safe, inclusive and sustainable community. IIDA is the commercial interior design association with global reach. We support design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms, and their clients through our network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries. We advocate for advancement in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of interior design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of people’s lives every day.

Join IIDA Ohio Kentucky virtually on November 13th during the lunch hour for an engaging continuing education opportunity. Kevin Johnson with Ghent will present “Why Standards Matter” exploring valuable insights you can apply to your work.

Attendees will earn 1 unit hour with HSW for completing the presentation.

This course provides knowledge about BIFMA’s mission and work. The course explains Why Standards Matter to all involved with furniture procurement to ensure decisions are informed by safety, wellness, and sustainability. In this course, you’ll learn about the historical context that drove the need for developing industry-wide furniture performance standards and understand the impact of social, economic, and technological trends on the bottom line for business owners.

🏛️ TOLEDO: Step inside the Wood County Courthouse on November 17!

Join us for an engaging look at the courthouse’s architectural history, evolution, and continued role in serving the community. Explore how the building has adapted over time to address accessibility, functionality, and the changing needs of a modern civic environment.

The guided tour will be led by Heidi Reger, Architect & AIA member, and Matt Reger, Judge at the Wood County Courthouse.

Following the tour, join IIDA and AIA members at Juniper Brewing Company for an evening of networking, conversation, and connection.

An Evening of Creativity, Connection & Community!

On October 16, IIDA Cincinnati/Dayton hosted its inaugural A Seat at the Table at The Royce, bringing our design community together to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and advocacy for reasonable regulation within the interior design profession.

Inspired by the theme “Table of Curiosities,” our Chair Design Challenge invited designers to transform everyday and discarded materials into nine one-of-a-kind chair designs. Each piece showcased the imagination, craftsmanship, and unique perspectives that make our industry so special. The chairs were auctioned off, creating an exciting celebration of design and community.

👏 Congratulations to all our chair recipients, and a special congratulations to Team Office Furnishings & Champlin Studios for receiving the highest bid of the evening!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our benefactors, sponsors, event partners, and everyone who helped bring this evening to life. From our beautiful venue at The Royce to the catering, delivery support, and photography, your generosity made our inaugural event a success.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and supported the Chair Design Challenge.

Together, we created more than an evening of inspiring design—we made space for meaningful conversations, stronger connections, and continued advocacy for our profession.
