Very disappointing. Why someone would want to steal or destroy the beautiful "Amazing Grace" by artist Shari Vines is beyond us. Thank you LPD for getting on this case so quickly and arranging to have it repaired the next day.

Sculpture in the Park returns to Benson Sculpture Garden starting tomorrow, August 7–9, featuring more than 170 award-winning artists and over 2,000 sculptures from across the United States and Canada.

From breathtaking bronze and wildlife pieces to contemporary and abstract creations, this nationally recognized event offers something for every art lover.
Meet the artists, hear the stories behind their work, and explore one of the largest outdoor juried sculpture shows in the country.

• Sculpture in the Park Show & Sale:

IT'S HAPPENING!!!!! This weekend is the annual Sculpture in the Park Show and Sale in Loveland, CO. The Gala (by ticket only) is tonight (Friday), then the show with all the artists present is all day Saturday and Sunday. (Tickets can be bought at the door.) Please come out and celebrate with all these artists that have come from near and far to show off their BEAUTIFUL work. And the BEST part is....you can take a piece home!!! IT'S ONLY ONCE A YEAR...SO PLEASE JOIN THEM!!!

This stunning piece is a "high relief" of Saint Dominic by the extremely talented artist Lynn Kircher, with the assistance of Amy Lukens.

In Lynn's words: "The process began after I was asked to create a piece for an existing niche. I began by reading several books on the life and teaching of Saint Dominic. Then I explored historical paintings and sculptures. I also explored different approaches my favorite artists have used in the high relief techniques, namely Rodan’s the gates and French, as well as Bernini. I followed with sketches that explored different gestures and design elements. I surround my self with descriptive adjectives from my reading. From there I create miniatures that explore compositions that translate my sketches into 3-D. The client then selects a piece to approve for me to enlarge. I created the sculpture 1/2 life size in clay with my assistant Amy Lukens. Once approved, we move forward with printing and then sprue through patina at Bronze Services of Loveland. They say it takes a village. For all of us a labor if love."
