The SCP team was excited to support the official kick off the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Energy Programs Office Technical Assistance for Community Energy and Resilience (TACER) Program this week!

TACER is an eight-month pilot program designed to help Pennsylvania nonprofits and community-based organizations strengthen project readiness, identify funding opportunities, develop competitive grant applications, and advance energy affordability, energy efficiency, and community resilience projects toward implementation.

During our kickoff session, we welcomed an inspiring group of organizations representing communities across Pennsylvania, including the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Danville Area Community Center, RegenAll, Schuylkill Community Action, and the Youth Leadership Institute of Erie. Together, participants are pursuing projects ranging from solar energy and facility improvements to housing, weatherization, and community resilience initiatives.

The energy, creativity, and commitment shared during our first session made one thing clear: these organizations are deeply invested in creating stronger, more resilient communities. We look forward to supporting each participant over the next eight months as they move their projects from vision to action.

Last week, we had the opportunity to facilitate a leadership SWOT session with the team at Dauphin County Parks & Recreation at the beautiful and historic Hunter Park as part of their strategic planning process. Together, we explored the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats while also discussing a bold vision for the future. The session focused on identifying the priorities, partnerships, and innovative ideas that will help guide the department over the next three to five years.

Dauphin County Parks & Recreation plays a vital role in preserving natural, cultural, and historic resources while creating opportunities for recreation, education, and community connection throughout the region. We are grateful for the thoughtful engagement, candid discussions, and forward-thinking perspectives shared by the leadership team.

We’re excited to continue supporting the department as we move into the next phase as we gather community input. The future is bright for Dauphin County Parks & Recreation, and we’re honored to be part of the journey.

At Strategic Consulting Partners (SCP) we have been inspired by the opportunity to partner with organizations that are tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing our communities.

This week, our team Amy Fazio and Jenny Gallagher Blom had the privilege of facilitating strategic planning conversations with Alluma, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting wellbeing and instilling hope through integrated mental health, substance use, crisis response, housing, school and community based services across all age groups and in individual, family, and group settings

Alluma’s mission and whole-person approach to care are making a meaningful difference across rural communities in northwestern Minnesota.

What stood out most was the passion, expertise, and deep commitment of Alluma’s Board of Directors, leadership, and front-line team members. The conversations were thoughtful, forward-looking, and grounded in a shared desire to expand access to care, ensure excellent service delivery, strengthen community partnerships, support their workforce, and ensure long-term sustainability so they can continue meeting the evolving needs of those they serve.

Strategic planning is at its best when the process and framework create space to ask bold questions, challenge assumptions, ruthlessly prioritize, and align around a vision for the future.

SCP is grateful for the opportunity to support organizations like Alluma as they work to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

At the UPMC Neighborhood Center in East Liberty, Anwan Wesley is helping build stronger connections between families, schools, businesses, and community resources. As a Family Engagement Specialist, he works to expand opportunities for local residents through community partnerships, workforce development initiatives, and programs that support family stability and wellbeing.

A nationally recognized fatherhood innovator, Anwan is also the founder of the D.A.D. App (Doing it All Day), a platform designed to connect fathers with the tools and support they need to strengthen family outcomes. His leadership has earned First Place in the 2025 BNY Social Innovation Challenge and recognition as a 2026 UPMC Community Hero.
