This summer, Bwadwét Innovation Community had the opportunity to connect with so many incredible organizations, partners, and tribal leaders. Here are a few summer highlights we're excited to share:

🔥 Alexis Harris, Bwadwét Innovation Community Director, joined
Aiccw-Facc American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin for the first session of the Economic Development Training for Small Businesses series. Alexis partnered with AICCW to bring a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation-funded training opportunity to Milwaukee, connecting Indigenous entrepreneurs with resources and support.

🔥 We're halfway through Ignite, the 15-week, cohort-based training program designed to support Indigenous entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and cultural connection. Migwétth (thank you) to our guest speakers who have joined us weekly at the

🔥 Bwadwét Innovation Community attended the 2026 Potawatomi Gathering hosted by the Forest County Potawatomi Community. At the Potawatomi Economic Summit, Alexis introduced Bwadwét Innovation Community to tribal leaders, business professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members from the Potawatomi sister tribes.

🔥 We had a great time at the 6th Annual Craig Anderson Golf Tournament hosted by AICCW. We appreciate the opportunity to connect and enjoy a day on the course.

Last week, Potawatomi Ventures proudly donated 400 backpacks at the Forest County Potawatomi Community Back-to-School Backpack Event. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together Forest County Potawatomi Tribal Members and descendants, as well as Tribal departments who connected with families, shared resources, and raised awareness about programs and services available to community members. Seeing all the enthusiasm at the event serves as a reminder of the impact that collaboration, community partnerships, and investing in our youth can have on future generations.

This summer, the Potawatomi Ventures HR department partnered with Menomonee River Valley and Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB) to help clean up a part of the Hank Aaron Trail in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are proud to dedicate our time to making our community a better place with our "Potawatomi Ventures Gives Back" efforts. By volunteering and supporting local initiatives, we strive to create a lasting positive impact for our neighbors and future generations.

Looking back on an incredible day of collaboration, innovation, and economic engagement! Potawatomi Ventures was honored to welcome representatives from Potawatomi sister tribes at the Potawatomi Economic Summit and Business Expo bringing together tribal leaders, business professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members.

Migwétth (thank you) to the presenters, exhibitors, attendees, volunteers, leadership, and partners for making this event such a success. A special thank you to the Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel Management Team, the Forest County Potawatomi Community Communications Department, IT Division, and Administrator, Eric Byers, and Matt Goldner from Bkede O Mshike. The contributions helped create a welcoming, professional, and memorable experience for all who attended.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel recently came to visit Data Holdings Data Center, our Potawatomi-owned data center on the Near West Side of Milwaukee. More than a decade ago, the Tribe invested in sustainable digital infrastructure designed to support businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, and organizations across the region while reflecting Potawatomi values of stewardship and long-term planning.

As Ryan Brooks, CTO and General Manager, shared:" [Data Holdings] is part of the neighborhood. It's part of Milwaukee. It's no different than any other piece of important infrastructure that's part of the community."

Today, Data Holdings enables business activity for 80 businesses, mostly local; serving as an example that data centers can be both good for business and the environment. We're grateful to the Forest County Potawatomi Community for the vision to invest in infrastructure that supports Milwaukee's future.
