We were glad to host the Near West Side Partners’ Stakeholder Convening earlier this week at the Wgema Campus. Kip Ritchie joined leaders from Marquette University, Harley-Davidson, Advocate Health Care and Molson Coors for a conversation about what’s next for Milwaukee’s Near West Side and the role all of us can play in its future.

As Kip shared, “One of the things I like about the Near West Side is that there’s a lot happening here. You have some of Milwaukee’s largest employers and institutions, but you also have neighborhoods, small businesses and people who have been here a long time. For us as Potawatomi people, there’s a strong connection to this area. This is part of our ancestral homeland, and the Tribe has invested significantly in restoring Wgema and making it a place that serves both the Tribe and the broader community."

This week, Potawatomi Ventures attended Indigenous Biz Con V hosted by Indigenous Business Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The conference provided valuable educational sessions and conversations centered on Indigenous business, entrepreneurship, and economic sovereignty.

We attended the conference alongside Forest County Potawatomi Community Executive Council, Potawatomi Ventures Board Members, Greenfire Management Services, Data Holdings, and Bwadwét Innovation Community.

Our leadership team was honored to participate in dynamic discussions throughout the conference. Representing Potawatomi Ventures, Greenfire Management Services, and Bwadwét Innovation Community were Kip Ritchie, Jeff Johnson, Andrew Byrne, Jeb Meier, Michal Moe, and Alexis Harris who shared valuable insights and perspectives with attendees.
