New month, fresh focus. 🍂

We’re kicking off October with a full house and a full conference room, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring our team together to reconnect, realign, and start the month with purpose.

Our team meetings give us time to share updates, talk through priorities, strengthen collaboration, and make sure we’re aligned on what’s ahead.

There’s something special about having everyone in the room, exchanging ideas and moving forward together. A strong month starts with a connected team, and we’re ready for October!

🔥 Life Safety in an EmPATH Unit: Fire Sprinkler Systems

Fire sprinkler systems are an essential component of life safety in any healthcare environment, but projects within an EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) unit require additional planning and coordination.

These specialized environments are designed to provide a safer, more therapeutic setting for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. That means building systems must support both fire and life safety requirements and the unique needs of the patient population.

Fire sprinkler planning may include considerations such as:

• Appropriate sprinkler selection and placement for the environment
• Coordination with ceilings, lighting, HVAC, and other building systems
• Behavioral health and patient-safety design considerations
• Maintaining required fire protection coverage throughout construction
• Coordinating shutdowns to minimize impacts to active healthcare operations
• Required inspections, testing, and verification before completion

It’s a reminder that even the systems we rarely notice play an important role in creating healthcare spaces that are safe, functional, and designed around the people they serve.
