At Talley, we're proud to celebrate the achievements of our employee-owners, whose commitment to continuous learning helps strengthen the service and expertise we bring to our clients every day.

Congratulations to Leslie McClain, Senior Meeting Manager, on earning her Master of Science in Meeting and Event Management from San Diego State University!

Over the course of the 21-month program, Leslie balanced graduate studies while working full-time, demonstrating the dedication, discipline, and passion for professional growth that we value at Talley. The program, one of the few graduate degrees in the country designed specifically for meeting and event professionals, focuses on leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and organizational impact within the meetings and events industry.

Reflecting on the experience, Leslie shared that the program helped her grow not only as a meeting professional, but as a leader.

Please join us in congratulating Leslie on this significant accomplishment 🎓 We are proud to have such talented and driven professionals on our team and look forward to the continued impact she will make for our clients, partners, and the industry.

A lot of board challenges don’t come from lack of commitment, they come from lack of clarity 💡

Board members should be responsible for setting strategic direction, approving budgets, ensuring fiduciary and legal oversight, evaluating the CEO, and keeping the organization aligned with its long-term mission.

They should NOT be responsible for managing staff, overseeing day-to-day operations, making tactical program decisions, or stepping into ex*****on-level work.

When those boundaries are unclear, governance becomes reactive and leadership loses focus.

June is where association strategy gets exposed 👀

We’re halfway through the year, which means your membership trends, event performance, engagement metrics, and content output are no longer projections. They're signals of what’s actually working.

As your association heads into the second half of the year, ask:

✅ Which programs or initiatives are producing measurable results?

✅ What member needs have emerged that weren't on our radar in January?

✅ Are we spending our time on high-impact activities or just maintaining momentum?

✅ What can we stop, improve, or double down on before year-end?

The organizations that finish the year strong aren't always the busiest. They're the ones willing to evaluate, adjust, and focus on what matters most.

The value signal for association events is getting harder to see.

With rising costs, content overload, and shorter registration windows, professionals are being more selective about where they invest their time 💡

That shift is forcing associations to rethink how they communicate ROI before someone ever registers.

Are you finding it more difficult to capture attention for your next event? Make the value of your association event impossible to miss with Talley: https://bit.ly/4jIiWAu

People thrive when they feel connected to their purpose 🌱

Strong associations help protect that connection by creating spaces where people feel supported, valued, and part of something meaningful, like we see each year at TalleyCon, reflected in these moments with our team.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s a reminder that purpose is closely tied to well-being. There’s something powerful about feeling grounded in the work you do.

We’re so fortunate to do work in the association space that centers around purpose every day.

Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

We honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, whose legacy reflects the same enduring value associations strive to uphold daily: a commitment to something greater than ourselves.

We pause in gratitude today.

Most associations don’t actually have a content problem, they have a consistency problem.

Do any of these consistency roadblocks sound familiar from the slides below? 👀

Even great content loses momentum when there is a lack of consistency.

That’s where structure and ex*****on make the difference.

Save this for later as a reminder when building your content plans ⬇️

Inside our Comprehensive Technology Assessment at Talley 💡

We recently completed an internal cross-functional evaluation of our association management and event technology with one goal in mind: to better serve our client partners and help them more effectively leverage technology to advance their missions.

With technology and innovation as a core service pillar, we brought together 50+ employee owners across meetings, member services, finance, programs, and marketing to take a deep and intentional look at how our systems support the work we do every day.

The requirements were shaped by the real-world experiences of 25+ client-partner associations across industries, regions, and sizes, ensuring the bar we set reflected the organizations we actually serve, not a theoretical standard.

This work reflects what we value most at Talley: collaboration, transparency, and innovation, and reinforces our commitment to continually improving how we support associations and their members.

If your association is thinking critically about how technology can better support members, engagement, and growth, let’s start a conversation: https://bit.ly/3LIoEpZ
