There are 168 hours in a week. How many of those should you actually spend working on your business? 👀
The answer depends on your goals, where you’re at in your business, and what you’re trying to accomplish.
1–10 hours: If this is all the time you’re putting into your business, you might need to rethink your priorities. Building something successful takes time, effort, and consistency. If you’re just getting started or balancing a full-time job, that’s understandable, but if you’re serious about growing, you may need to find ways to dedicate more time.
20–40 hours: Now we’re talking! You’re putting real time into building something. Focus on making those hours productive, developing systems, and working on things that actually grow your business.
40–60 hours: You’re putting in serious work! There are seasons of entrepreneurship when longer hours are necessary. Just make sure you’re working toward something sustainable rather than constantly running yourself into the ground.
60–80+ hours: We respect the hustle, but at what cost? Working more doesn’t always mean accomplishing more. If you’re consistently putting in this many hours, it might be time to look at delegating, improving your systems, or changing how your business operates.
Here’s some perspective:
There are 168 hours in a week.
If you sleep 8 hours a night, that’s 56 hours gone, leaving you with 112 waking hours.
If you’re working 80 hours a week, that leaves just 32 hours for eating, exercising, relationships, family, hobbies, and everything else life throws at you.
The goal isn’t to work as many hours as possible. It’s to make the hours you work count.
Building a successful business takes sacrifice, but the ultimate goal should be creating something that gives you more opportunities, flexibility, and freedom.
Work hard now, build smart for the future, and don’t forget to enjoy life along the way.
