What a vanglorious TOUGH IT OUT TUESDAY!

Nothing makes a day brighter than a morning run.

It’s that time of year when we remind ourselves of summer running safety. Today’s topic, hydration and running wardrobe reminders.

1. Amount of water you should be drinking. Especially if you’re a heavy sweater.

2. The right type of materials your running clothes should be made of. Why and what it does.

Be safe. Be smart. Train with intention Be consistent.

Hey there running fam. It’s a hot ass SUPPLE & SASSY SATURDAY! Whew! 😰

Coach had a running buddy this morning. Found out a neighbor and I are part of the same running group. To top it off, we didn’t know we were neighbors. 🤣

She went in our FB group looking for somebody to run with in this area. I’m like, I’ll run with you! We found out we were in the same community. I said shut up!

She told me her street. I was like, I can’t talk to you. 🤣 we are neighbors. I plugged her street in Google. Dag Nab her time…. Right on the corner I’ve run past her house a bazillion times since I lived here.

Hopefully, she’ll run with me again. I broke her. She broken now. 🙄
I just be scaring away new running friends.

When the run was done, I logged 8.22M on this extremely hot walk/run.

Hello and hey.
This WHIRLWIND WEDNESDAY fell on Global Running Day!

The first Wednesday in June is the day we celebrate all that running gives us, helps us and brings us closer to. The victories of past and current runners. Those new and seasoned.

The world of running has changed lives and saved lives. Healed bodies and minds.

Today I ran to keep the history of running alive. To celebrate those who paved the way and those whom lost their lives while doing what they loved; RUN.

I use my recovery run of 3.73M as a salute to those before me, running with me and those who’ll kick asphalt and trail after me.

Running is my therapy! Running stops progression of disease and illness. Running is a cure.

In today’s video we talk about the difference between rest and active recovery. The what and the why. How soon. Examples of each.

Afternoon Conversation

Me (on the left) the moment my hamstring did its final tear; right before the finish at SD Half Marathon in March. It was screaming at me mile 2 to 13.1.

This is the only runner that ran to me and with me for a yard or so. She didn’t have to. We’re all against the clock. Half of us are so locked in that we don’t notice anyone or anything. Only what’s straight ahead.

She checked on me again, right before we all hit the starting line Sunday at RnR San Diego. She sent this photo of us running to the finish at SD Half. She held my arm and didn’t leave until I told her to take off for the finish.

I had no clue this photo was taken.

Funny how the camera guys always get you at an awkward or tragic moment.

2 days to go. R’n’R San Diego Half & Full Marathon on deck.

Last run before race day completed. 4.2M logged in the book of run. On this FIT & FEROCIOUS FRIDAY.

I’m race day ready. What about you? Yall ready for this? Who’s running which race this weekend? R’n’R 5K this Saturday or the half or full on Sunday. Who’s on a run-cation and where?

Let me tell you, I’m happy to see more runners in my community. Especially, black runners. More black men up and outside running. Staying on top of their fitness and health. I’m on a mission to get us running together. I’m about to be that one person, that one that thinks it’s okay to stop a runner midst stride. Cuz we need to encourage more of us to run. Build healthy habits, relationships-community.

Time to head out. It’s expo day. Bib pick up and to the store for carb load necessities.

Dropping in really quick to let you know registration for Running With The Pros-Running Clinic is extended until tomorrow morning, 8am.

That’s right ya heard me! Registration has been extended to tomorrow morning at 8M.

We know it’s mommy day weekend and you’re focused on celebrating motherhood.

We’re beginning early enough for you to get your run in and some learning to boot, before enjoying your Mother’s Day festivities.
