It’s. Another one. Another SUPPLE & SASSY SATURDAY DOUBLE DIGITS.

10.5M logged in the book of run. I didn’t get locked out my house this time. The heat and humidity were steady. No heat exhaustion this time. 65 degrees on the start. 77 degrees during and after the run. Made for a marvelous run. I took on a few hills and remained relaxed.

It’s. FIT & FEROCIOUS FRIDAY!

Let me tell you I enjoyed every minute of this 60 degree morning. The delicate tap of a sneaky breeze. Pleasant side roads and dirt trails. Out just early enough to avoid the rampant storm of school drop off and uncoordinated kids on e-bikes.

The assignment: run 4.5M easy. Keeping an 11:00-11:30 pace.

Reality: 5.6M easy at an average 10:53 pace.

Feeling good feeling great. 👍🏽

FIT & FEROCIOUS FRIDAY!

Week 8 of half marathon training coming to an end. Short slow and hurry up already 4.39M logged in the book of run.

Don’t know who was more dangerous today, the recreational bike rider who doesn’t seem to understand look up when riding - pay attention to the road or the di*****ds running the stop signs and speeding. On the same street where 3 kids were struck down within a few weeks of each other. Runners and cyclists be safe. Stay alert.

WHY DID I MOVE TO THE DESERT?! 🐪

10.33 slow motion dragging miles of death completed and logged in the book of run.

Y’all be careful in this heat. I don’t care how many years you’ve been running and don’t think you need to know or you think you know everything. You don’t know what you don’t know! Learn and or refresh yourself on the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. They have similar symptoms.

The plan was 5.6M for 56 years young. As usual, I overshot the corner. 6.16M it is.

Birthday morning run done.

It’s race weekend out here in the Sunshine state.
AFC Half Marathon tomorrow. I’m not running it this year. Sending runner’s speed to my running fam kicking asphalt this weekend.

Take plenty photos and earn that bling! Oh yea and the banana! (In my minion voice).

I’m going to kick off my birthday shenanigans. In 5 days coach will be 56. Let the games begin!!

TOUGH IT OUT TUESDAY WORKOUT: SPEED TRAINING

Dynamic warmup
1M easy warmup
7X1min intervals
As follows:
1min hard (8:30-9:10P)
1min recovery
Repeat 7 times
1M easy cool down

In the video I said between 8:30-9:30P. That was wrong. 8:30-9:10P was the goal.

Fastest pace 8:55.

The sun remained hidden the entire time. Thank goodness!

Time to hydrate, shower, fuel, hydrate again and begin the work day.

SUPPLE & SASSY SATURDAY 10.3M completed! ✔️

I only died 6 times.
Temps at the start 73 degrees. Temps the entire rest of run, 90. Today’s warning alert: UV warning with a side of don’t go outside unless you have to.

This mornings running fragrance. Thin air, shrubs that aren’t supposed to be planted in populated areas and filthy septic tanks.

Earlier start. Earlier finish. No heat. No humidity.

TOUGH IT OUT TUESDAY ASSIGNMENT : TIME TRIAL.

Felt good to have that adrenaline pumping. It’s been a minute.

If you haven’t been here before or stopping by after a long time, I’m trying out one of those Garmin Connect training plans. Taking some work off my plate. Not developing one for myself this time.

Today was the first time trial.

0.5M warm up
1M speed run
0.5M cool down

Of course I ran a 0.4M further.

The goal was to run under 10:00 mile.
