🌟 32 Leaders. Two Days. One Incredible Experience! 🌟

Last Thursday and Friday, Heather and I had the privilege of facilitating the Leadership Grand Strand (LGS) Retreat at the beautiful Wampee Conference Center!

Over two days, we brought together 32 emerging and established community leaders for an experience intentionally designed to build relationships, strengthen leadership skills, challenge perspectives, and, most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Through interactive activities, meaningful conversations, plenty of laughter, and a little karaoke, these leaders began building the connections that will carry them throughout their LGS journey.

A few highlights from our time together:

🔹 LGS Lifelines! Building trust, developing relationships, and discovering the unique strengths each person brings to the group.

🔹 How Full Is Your Bucket? Heather led an engaging session focused on positivity, encouragement, and the impact we have on others, including a special activity centered on filling our LGS buckets with positivity, service and leadership tools!

🔹 The Leader in YOU! I had the opportunity to challenge participants to explore their personal leadership approaches, recognize their influence, and consider how they can lead more intentionally.

🔹 Ocean Crossing! We wrapped up the retreat with one of our signature Hop2it Consulting experiences! This high-energy team challenge put communication, collaboration, problem-solving, trust, and leadership to the test. And judging by the pictures, there was certainly no shortage of laughter along the way!

One of our favorite reminders from these two days? Leadership isn’t just about the position you hold. It’s about the relationships you build, the example you set, and the positive impact you have on those around you.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to once again partner with Leadership Grand Strand and to Shannon Haswell Furtick and the LGS Board to support another year of developing leaders who will make a difference throughout our community.

To this year’s LGS class: Your leadership journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you!

Rooted. Resilient. Connected.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Waccamaw Nonprofit Summit: Rooted & Resilient, bringing together nonprofit leaders from across Horry and Georgetown Counties.

One of the things I value most about working with nonprofits is the opportunity to continually learn, listen, engage, and grow alongside the organizations doing this important work every day.

It was especially meaningful to see several Hop2it Consulting clients sharing their expertise as presenters, while reconnecting with so many other clients, partners, and friends throughout the day.

Strong nonprofit communities don’t happen by accident. They are built through collaboration, shared learning, honest conversations, and a commitment to moving forward together.

Grateful for a day spent with so many leaders who are working every day to make our communities stronger. Great job Waccamaw Community Foundation, United Way of Horry County, The Chapin Foundation Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation on a wonderful day!

Excited to finally share this!

I’m honored to have been invited to speak at the Engaged OHIO 2026 Symposium at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, on November 6.

I’ll be presenting “From Conversation to Capacity: Community Engagement Strategies That Actually Build Momentum.”

So much of the work we do at Hop2it Consulting centers on a simple belief: meaningful change doesn’t happen because people simply gather around a table. It happens when conversation leads to connection, connection leads to engagement, and engagement is transformed into action and capacity.

I’m looking forward to sharing some of the lessons we’ve learned through our work with nonprofits, community organizations, boards, and leaders…and equally looking forward to learning from leaders and practitioners from across Ohio and beyond.

🚀 THE MOMENTUM IS GROWING…MLN IS COMING TO GEORGETOWN COUNTY!

I’m incredibly excited to officially announce that beginning in January 2027, Hop2it Consulting will launch the Momentum Leadership Network (MLN) in Georgetown County!

MLN was created around a simple belief:

Leadership was never meant to be a solo journey.

Each month, MLN brings together an intentional cohort of leaders for practical leadership development, meaningful connections, honest conversations, shared experiences, peer learning, and ideas they can immediately take back to their organizations.

After seeing the relationships and leadership community that have developed through our Grand Strand cohort, we’re excited to bring that same experience to leaders throughout Georgetown County.

And I’m thrilled that the Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation will serve as the host location for this new cohort each month

A special thank you to Ashley Nelson and team Bunnelle for believing in the vision for MLN and for their enthusiasm about bringing this opportunity to Georgetown County. Their willingness to help connect us with leaders throughout the community speaks volumes about Bunnelle’s commitment to investing in people and strengthening organizations.

💲 $450 for the entire 12-month membership

Membership will be intentionally limited because what makes MLN special is the opportunity for everyone around the table to participate, build genuine relationships, and learn from one another.

Leadership development can be meaningful, engaging, and a whole lot of fun!

On Wednesday, Hop2it Consulting had the opportunity to spend the day in the Columbia area, facilitating a Leadership Retreat with the team at Lexington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Cayce, South Carolina.

Throughout the retreat, we explored team building, leadership approaches, effective communication, personal accountability, and positivity in the workplace through hands-on activities and intentional discussion.

There was plenty of learning, but there was also a lot of laughter! The energy and engagement throughout the retreat were fantastic as team members participated, shared, challenged their thinking, and had fun together along the way.

The retreat also served as an important kickoff to the hospital’s 2027 strategic planning process, creating an opportunity for the team to strengthen communication, leadership, and collaboration as they begin looking toward the future.

Thank you to the Lexington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital team for the incredible participation, enthusiasm, and trust in Hop2it Consulting. We loved spending the day with you!

🌴 Hop2it Consulting is in Orlando!

Today, Hop2it Consulting had several meetings in the Orlando area, including a fantastic meeting with Chris Mueller, General Manager of Hilton Orlando.

What started as a conversation quickly became 90 minutes of exchanging leadership ideas, touring the resort, including behind-the-scenes operations and meeting members of Chris’s leadership team.

Building relationships has always been at the heart of how Hop2it grows, and today was an exciting example of exactly that.

We’re excited for what 2027 brings for Hop2it Consulting and partnerships in the Orlando market… Stay Tuned!

Over the past several months, something pretty special has been happening through the Momentum Leadership Network (MLN).

We created MLN around a simple belief:
Leadership was never meant to be a solo journey.

MLN brings together a small, intentional cohort of leaders for ongoing leadership development, meaningful connection, honest conversation, shared learning, and practical ideas they can take back to their organizations.

And now, we’re expanding the Momentum community beyond geographic boundaries.

💻 Introducing the Founding Virtual Cohort of the Momentum Leadership Network, launching January 2027!

Virtual MLN is designed specifically for leaders beyond the communities served by our in-person Grand Strand cohorts who want the MLN experience regardless of where they live or work.

This is NOT a webinar! And it is NOT another virtual presentation where you log in, listen for 90 minutes, and leave.

It’s a leadership community.

Each month, Virtual MLN members will come together for an interactive 90-minute experience featuring:

🔹 Meaningful connections with leaders from different industries and communities
🔹 Real-world leadership conversations and peer learning
🔹 Opportunities to share challenges, ideas and experiences

Our first session brought a strategic planning team together to identify ways to work collaboratively while laying out the entire strategic planning process.
