Another great day with the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management - USC Hospitality and Tourism Management faculty and staff at the University of South Carolina!

Today we continued the work we began last week, creating synergy around the themes and trends that emerged from our first session while preparing the team for their upcoming strategic planning process.

I was once again impressed by the engagement, thoughtful conversation, and genuine commitment this group has to collaboration, continuous improvement, and creating an exceptional experience for their students.

It has been a privilege to facilitate these conversations over the past two weeks. I’m excited to see where they take the ideas and insights we’ve uncovered together!

THIS is what the Momentum Leadership Network was created to do. 💪

This morning, our MLN members gathered for our second monthly session at BELFOR Myrtle Beach and once again, the conversation reminded me why this community is so special.

Our focus was “The Leader in the Mirror: Becoming the Leader Others Need.”

But this wasn’t a morning of sitting and listening to someone talk about leadership.

Members shared personal experiences. They talked openly about leaders who have positively impacted their lives and those who taught them lessons about the kind of leader they never want to become. We explored self-awareness, intentionality, adaptability, and the difference between our intent and our impact as leaders.

And then the room did what MLN was designed to do.

People challenged ideas. They offered different perspectives. They shared stories. They learned from one another. And everyone walked away with something to think about and something they can intentionally try in their own leadership.

That’s the magic of this group.

MLN isn’t simply about networking with other leaders.

It’s about growing alongside them.

Two meetings in, and I couldn’t be more excited about the community this inaugural cohort is creating.

Leadership was never meant to be a solo journey.

What a great afternoon in Columbia with the Hospitality and Tourism Management faculty and staff at the University of South Carolina!

I had the privilege of facilitating their Faculty Development Retreat, focused on strengthening collaboration, reflecting on organizational culture, and preparing for the future.

The engagement in the room was incredible with thoughtful conversations, honest perspectives, lots of participation, and tremendous energy from a faculty and staff deeply committed to their students and the future of their program.

A tremendously successful afternoon, and I’m already looking forward to continuing the conversation next week!

Today I had the pleasure of facilitating a brand new Nonprofit Accelerator Program, in partnership with the Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation. We worked with 26 nonprofit leaders in the first of 5 sessions aimed at growing and supporting the needs of Georgetown County nonprofit organizations. Thank you Ashley K Nelson and the entire Bunnelle team with this partnership and opportunity.
