🚫 Why Dryer Roof Vents Should NEVER Have Screens
This is exactly why we remove screens from dryer roof vent covers.
Dryer lint is designed to exit your home. When a screen is installed, it traps lint instead of letting it escape. Over time, that buildup restricts airflow, forces heat and moisture back into the system, and creates a serious fire hazard.
🔥 What screens cause:
• Rapid lint buildup
• Poor dryer performance
• Longer dry times
• Overheating and premature dryer failure
• Increased risk of dryer fires
✔️ The correct setup:
A proper dryer vent hood with a gravity or damper-style flapper — no screen — allowing lint to exit freely while still keeping weather and pests out.
Screens belong on bath and range vents. Not dryer vents.
