New on the NOBL Sitework blog. From Destin to Baker the answer changes with the parcel and with whether

the lot sits inside a city. What actually comes up on the Okaloosa County

lots we clear, and who to ask.

Clearing a lot in Okaloosa County usually takes paperwork of some kind, and the office you ask changes with the address. What we see on the lots we clear.

You'd think the big logs are the hard part to haul off a lot. They're the easy part. Logs stack tight on a truck. The tops and limbs are what eat up trucks, because a load of brush is mostly air no matter how hard you pack it down.

If you can get it to the curb, your county's curbside debris pickup is free, and you should use it. We're for what you can't move by hand: whole trees, big limbs and piles too large to drag to the road. Our crew and machine load it and haul it to our pit in Navarre. One flat price per load, packed full or not: $40 per cubic yard in Navarre. Extra loads are paid on the spot, and unused loads are refunded within 24 hours.

To protect your home, we don't remove trees from houses, roofs, sheds or power lines. If a standing tree needs to come down and has clear room to fall, our excavator can push it over in one piece. If it has to come down in sections or fall between buildings, that's a job for an arborist.

You don't need a bridge to get trucks across a wet ditch. A pipe goes in the bottom and fill goes over it, so the water keeps moving underneath while the trucks drive across on top. What decides whether it holds up is how much dirt sits over that pipe. Too little and the first loaded truck across can crush it. A crossing on a job in Freeport.

County curbside debris pickup covers residential right-of-way only. Businesses, churches, HOA common areas, private roads, apartments and mobile home parks aren't covered.

That's where we come in. Our crew and machines load downed trees, logs, limbs and brush and haul it to our pit in Navarre. One flat price per load, whether it's packed full or only partly full. In Navarre, Navarre Beach and Holley that's $720 for an 18 cubic yard dump truck load or $1,200 for a 30 cubic yard dumpster, which works out to $40 per cubic yard.

Can't get your storm debris to the road, or is it too big to move? That's what we're here for.

NOBL Sitework is a local crew, not an out-of-town outfit. Like everyone here, our team spent the last few days taking care of our own homes and families first, so we understand what you're dealing with. We're back at work and getting to people as fast as we can.

Our crew and machines load downed trees, logs, limbs and brush and haul it to our pit in Navarre. You pay one flat price per load, whether it's packed full or only partly full. We bring the machine that fits your property, an excavator, a mini excavator or a skid steer, and the price is the same whichever one we use. In Navarre, Navarre Beach and Holley that's $720 for an 18 cubic yard dump truck load or $1,200 for a 30 cubic yard dumpster, which works out to $40 per cubic yard.

Need another load once we're there? You pay for it on the spot, before we load it. Nothing gets billed later. Paid for more loads than you used? We refund them within 24 hours.

New on the NOBL Sitework blog. Both are holes that catch stormwater. One holds it and lets it soak in, the

other holds it and lets it out slowly. Which one your site gets is the

engineer's call. How each gets built.

The plain difference between a detention pond and a retention pond, how each one gets built as earthwork, and why sand and clay change the answer.
