"There is a great deal of poetry in an antique shop." — Anatole France
…and likewise, in an auction house.
Our May 16-17 Estates Auction honors the interconnection between present and past, with a broad selection of eras and styles that span time and place.
The two-day sale features a collection of Flora Danica tableware, Grand Tour bronzes, English and American silver, Egyptian revival furniture, and furniture, objects and paintings from the Baton Rouge home of Louisiana architect A. Hays Town, whose work reflects a deep understanding of the past, not as something to replicate, but as something to build from.
We invite you to visit our gallery at 333 St. Joseph St. to preview the contents of the sale in person, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You may also browse the catalogue at neworleansauction.com. Bidding is available in person, by telephone and online via Invaluable and LiveAuctioneers.
