To reflect this sale’s warmth and heritage, the backdrop for this month’s catalogue has been accentuated in collaboration with our friends at Schumacher and Backdrop. Masterfully designed by Xavier Donnelly, this scenic Appian Way Four Panel Set (shown here in “Daylight”) captures a sublime panorama – a fitting setting for a timeless summer.

Not to mention, we’ve relished the opportunity to showcase Xavier, whose formidable work our team has long admired. In fact, Hotel Peter & Paul by Ash World is one of our most beloved New Orleans spaces.

We hope this sale inspires you to linger in the daylight. Happy bidding!

Ahead of our July 25-26 Estates Auction, we asked Cass Roth Retz, New Orleans Auction’s Director of Business Development, to share some of her picks. With more than three decades of design industry experience, Cass’s keen eye never disappoints. Of this upcoming sale, she says:

“Selecting just a few favorite lots is never easy, but these pieces have captured my attention. From the sculptural elegance of the Mario Villa chair and the exquisite craftsmanship of the Italian pietra dura center table, to the magnificent Venetian console, a graceful pair of bronze swans, an impressive pair of marble hounds or an important Old Master painting, each represents the extraordinary quality, artistry and remarkable diversity awaiting collectors in this sale.

What I love most is how effortlessly these works capture the spirit of New Orleans Auction. Museum-worthy fine art stands alongside exceptional furniture, distinctive decorative arts and one-of-a-kind conversation pieces–each selected for its craftsmanship, history and enduring appeal. Every object tells its own story, yet together they reflect the breadth and caliber of the collections we are privileged to present.”

Whether you’re an established collector or appreciate extraordinary design, we invite you to explore this sale’s offerings in our July catalogue, available at neworleansauction. And tell us: which are your favorites?
