The Arts and Languages Department hopes that you and your students can join us on October 7 th at 7:00 pm for The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca presented by Repertorio Espanol

This will be in the Murphy Auditorium
Running time: 1 hr 30 min.

Federico García Lorca’s tragedy that unfolds in a cloistered world of women in 1930s Spain.

“Hatred, jealousy and despair come to life, almost as characters in their own right, in the Repertorio Español’s Spanish-language production of ‘La casa de Bernarda Alba’. García Lorca’s grim satisfaction in exposing the pretensions, self-deceits, and destructive willfulness of Bernarda Alba and her five daughters in a world of women who are all victims is almost palpable.” – The New York Times

Performed in Spanish with English translation.

The students in our Music in Film and Video class had quite a treat today! Film composer James Roberson came in to give a guest lecture on his path into and work in the film music industry. He gave the students advice for their own careers and musical projects, and even showed them how he scores a scene from start to finish! Arts Leadership major Aidan Murphy said, "It was awesome! Really intriguing to hear the backstory of a successful Hollywood composer." Roberson's music can be found in a host of popular movies and shows, including the series Spirit Riding Free on Netflix. Thank you James!
