Dear friends,

I’m delighted to announce our next shadow-work group gathering. The free event will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, May 13, from 8:00 – 9:30 PM EDT.

As always, the gathering is free. To register for the event, please go to: https://luma.com/9bv9fg2y. For those who register, the Zoom link will be sent shortly before the event.

The purpose of this event is to join together, to get to know one another, to share our methods, experiences, or questions around shadow work, and to support one another in our shadow-work practices.

As is true for most of our gatherings, there will be a short teaching or reading on some aspect of shadow work or projection, followed by an experiential exercise or period to contemplate and/or journal about that aspect covered in the teaching or reading, and then a period for sharing.

Shadow work involves discovering disowned parts of our psyches and integrating them into a more whole self. When these shadow parts are exiled to our unconscious, we tend to project their unacceptable qualities onto other people and groups. I believe that, in this divided and turbulent time, paying attention to our shadows and to our projections is vitally important.

What makes this project unique is the intention to do shadow work, at least in part, as a form of inner social activism. If we can discover our shadow projections and learn to withdraw them, we can contribute towards what, in Kabbalah, is called “Tikkun Olam,” the repair of the world.

If you’d like to read some of what I’ve written about shadow work, please go to https://reclaimingtheshadow.substack.com/. Please note, on my “welcome page” on Substack, you’ll be asked to enter your email address. If you are uncomfortable doing that, just click below where it says, “No thanks,” and you’ll be taken right to my page.

I look forward to the possibility of seeing many of you on the 13th

With respect and warm wishes,

Kevin Sachs
