Flynn’s first visit to the vet, Dr. Easterling. He’s healthy, happy, and 2 years younger than we were told.

For vet team info, I asked for the doctor who had helped our last cat shuffle off this mortal coil. I had never met her before that sad day. Even though she was only a year and a half out of school, she was so kind to us both, and so understanding of cat needs, that I resolved to ask her to be our regular veterinarian for future cat family.

And how did we find her? I called our regular clinic, told them we had come to the end of the road, and asked for a doctor who could handle a crying client. Vet staff and clients are a team. It works better when you have the right match. Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital

It’s been a long 1.5 years. I’ve had a cat since my 6th birthday, till Cozmo passed on at 18.5. In the past, cats have always found me. This time, nothing. I reach out to 2 rescue groups about a healthy, affectionate, middle-aged cat, connect with 2 lovely people who hear me. Meet our newest family member, Flynn! He’s about 5 yo, super social, and athletic, like Errol Flynn of Robin Hood fame. Hence, the name. We love him already.

If your love extends beyond this life, would you like to spend eternity with your pet? Ask your pet or human cemetery if you can be buried together. Here in New York, some cemeteries allow it but don’t advertise it—you have to inquire. One dog’s devotion led him to live his remaining 10 years in the place where his person was laid to rest. The country was so moved, they changed the law. Here’s that story. https://bbc.com/news/articles/c89kvqjyx4ko

Bob lived in the São Paulo cemetery where his owner was buried for 10 years until his death in 2021.

Good Riddance! What in your life no longer serves you? A job? A relationship? A memory? A mistake? Clear your mind and conscience for 2026 by letting it go. Make amends, forgive yourself for doing it/not doing it/not recognizing it sooner, and send it on its way with gratitude for what it taught you. Write it on a piece of paper and set it on fire. Put it out with the trash. Delete it from your phone. Today is a new day, and January 1 is a fresh start. Cheers!
