Join me tomorrow at Columbia Law School for this important panel tomorrow: Surviving to Thriving: Cultivating Joy, Community, and Mental Health

Join us for a lunch talk and panel presentation featuring Casey Faucon, J.D., Onleilove G Alston, MDIV, MSW, and Ericka Echavarria, LMSW, J.D.

This panel will focus on the challenges women of color face in professional spaces. Panelists will share personal stories, coping strategies, and resources to support attendees’ mental health and professional growth. The event will include a panel discussion of mental health professionals and practicing attorneys, followed by a reflection by the attendees. A 10 minute meditation will be administered at the end of the event. Join Cultural Care Collective here.

Today, we spotlight Onleilove Chika Alston (HER Wisdom Consulting)
a Faith-rooted Pan-Africanist, scholar, social worker, and educator whose powerful work bridges Africa and the diaspora.

Born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn, Onleilove brings over 17 years of nonprofit leadership and 13+ years of organizing experience to communities across the U.S. and internationally. Her Igbo heritage, traced through DNA and embraced by cultural institutions in Nigeria, deeply informs her mission and message.

Author of Prophetic Whirlwind: Uncovering the Black Biblical Destiny, Onleilove has lived in Ghana, studied Jewish communities across Africa and the Middle East, and launched , which supports over 40 African Jewish and diaspora synagogues and NGOs.

She teaches at Columbia University, Union Theological Seminary, and more, shaping conversations on justice, spirituality, and African identity. She’s also been appointed to key civic roles in NYC and has spoken at the United Nations on Black women, faith, and incarceration.

Her life is a testament to reconciliation, restoration, and rootedness.
