Gloria Steinem’s passing is a reminder of just how much ground women before us helped clear. I work with women founders. Most of them will never call themselves feminists in a pitch meeting. They don’t have to! They’re proving the point every day as they close a deal, create a job, build a profitable business, or hit a number nobody expected them to hit. They’re building on ground women like Gloria Steinem helped clear — and clearing a little more for those who come next.

Clarity Matters Even With AI: There is so much information on social media about the “right” prompts to use with AI that, frankly, it can get confusing. I use ChatGPT as my primary AI tool, and I recently asked a very simple question: What prompts do I actually need?
The answer was simpler than I expected:
-Need to make a decision? Ask it to challenge your thinking and identify what you may be missing.
-Need factual or current information? Ask it to verify using authoritative sources.
-Need deeper analysis? Ask it to look at risks, alternatives and trade-offs.
-Need help with writing? Ask it to keep your voice rather than reinvent it.

And for everything else? Sometimes you can simply ask the question.

⭐️My takeaway: You don’t need dozens of complicated prompts. You need to be clear about what you want AI to do.

This reminded me of a conversation I’ve had more than once with a client:
“What do you ultimately want from the business?”
More revenue isn’t always the answer. It may be greater profitability, working fewer hours, building a business that can operate without the founder in every decision, or positioning it for an eventual sale.
Once the end goal is clear, we work backward.
Look at the numbers. Identify what’s getting in the way. Determine what needs to change. Turn those decisions into manageable action items. A goal provides direction. A plan creates the path. Ex*****on is what moves the business toward the dream.
