Heat stress occurs when your body takes in more heat than it can get rid of. On a construction site, metabolic heat + environmental conditions + clothing/PPE can increase heat storage in the body and create serious health risks.

💧Hydrate regularly
🧊Take breaks in cool or shaded areas
👕Wear appropriate, breathable clothing when possible
🌡️Plan heavy work around the heat
👷Watch out for your coworkers and speak up when something doesn't feel right

Don't wait for an emergency to take heat seriously. Prevention starts before the first symptom.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.

Working in Oklahoma means high temperatures are part of the job — but heat-related illnesses are 100% preventable when you know what to look for.

Before stepping onto the jobsite, remember to:
Stay hydrated throughout the day—not just when you're thirsty.
Wear lightweight, breathable clothing.
Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
Watch your crew for signs of heat stress.
If someone shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.

Safety isn't just about following regulations—its about making sure everyone gets home at the end of the day.

🚧Fall Protection vs. Fall Prevention - Whats the difference?

These terms are often used interchangeably, but they serve two very different purposes.

🦺Fall Protection is designed to stop or arrest a fall after it happens.
Think of a properly fitted full-body harness connected to an approved anchor point. If a worker falls, the system catches them and reduces the risk of serious injury.

🛑Fall Prevention is designed to keep the fall from happening in the first place.
Guardrails, covers, and other passive systems create a barrier that prevents workers from reaching a fall hazard — no harness required when the guardrail system provides complaint protection.

The goal is always prevention first. When hazards can't be eliminated or guarded, fall protection becomes the next line of defense.

💡Remember:
Fall Prevention = Prevents the fall.
Fall Protection = Protects you if a fall occurs.

Safety starts with understanding the difference.

👇Have you ever heard these terms used as if they meant the same thing?

🚧SAFETY TIP: GOOD HOUSEKEEPING = SAFER JOBSITES🚧

Good housekeeping isn’t just about appearance, it helps prevent slips, trips, falls, struck-by incidents, and other common workplace injuries. Keeping walkways clear, materials organized, and debris picked up throughout the day protects everyone on site and keeps work moving efficiently.

✅Keep access routes clear
✅Store materials properly
✅Remove trash and debris regularly
✅Clean as you go, not just at the end of the shift
✅Take pride in a safe workplace

Small habits make a big difference. Safety starts with each of us.

One missed step can turn stored energy into a serious incident. ⚠️

Lockout/Tagout isn't just a box to check—it’s what stands between your team and unexpected startup or release of energy. The difference is in the discipline: clear procedures, the right tools, and people who know exactly what to do.

Do it right. Every time.

The hazards you can't see are often the most dangerous.

A strong respiratory program isn't just a requirement—it’s what keeps your crew safe on the job every day. From proper equipment selection to fit testing and training, the details matter more than you think.

Don't wait for a citation to take action.

🪜Ladders seem simple — but they're the #3 most cited violation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Most incidents come down to shortcuts and small mistakes.

Inspect before every use
Set it right (remember the 4:1 rule)
Never stand on the top rung
Use the right ladder for the job

Take the extra minute — because a fall only takes a second.

⚠️Hazard Communication isn't paperwork — it’s protection.

Ranked #2 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, HazCom violations often come down to missing info and missed training.

If your team doesn't know what they're working with, they're at risk.

Keep SDS updated and accessible
Label EVERY container (yes, even temporary ones)
Train your team on chemical hazards
Maintain a clear written HazCom program

Know the hazards. Communicate the risks. Work safer.

Falls are still the #1 most cited violation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration — and they're 100% preventable.

Guard it. Cover it. Tie off.
Because one short-cut can change everything.

Install guardrails
Wear your harness (PFAS)
Inspect before you start
Train to recognize hazards

Safety isn't optional — it’s the standard.
