Helping Cities Tackle Potholes with Smarter Asphalt Recycling Technology

Potholes are a constant challenge for cities and municipalities, especially after harsh winter conditions. Traditional cold patch repairs often provide only a short term fix, leading to repeat maintenance, increased labor costs, and frustrated residents. That’s why more communities are turning to smarter, more sustainable solutions.

A recent example can be seen in Tonawanda, New York, where a state funded asphalt recycler is helping crews deliver longer lasting pothole repairs. Watch the video below and learn how this approach allows road crews to produce fresh, workable hot mix on demand, improving repair quality while reducing waste and material costs.

💲 Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 hourly ($1,500.00 Sign-on Bonus)
🕒 Full-Time | Day Shift | Overtime as needed

Stepp Manufacturing is looking for an experienced Machinist to help machine precision metal parts for asphalt equipment.

What You’ll Do
• Run manual lathes, mills, drills
• Machine steel & alloy parts to spec
• Read blueprints & measure with precision tools
• Make custom/replacement parts
• Work with welders & engineering
• Follow safety rules & keep work area clean

What You Need
• 3+ years machinist experience
• Strong blueprint & measuring skills
• Experience with carbon & stainless steel
• High school diploma or GED (trade school a plus)

Nice to Have
• Manual machining
• Heavy part machining
• Industrial or heavy equipment background
