TGIF! It’s time for Lauren’s Free Advice Friday...

You know who you are…you moved in years ago, threw a bunch of boxes in the attic, and promptly forgot about them.

If you moved a box into your home more than five years ago and you haven’t opened it, you likely won’t miss what’s inside. Check it out and let it go.

(Future you won’t want to deal with it either, and neither will your next of kin!)

Considering a new stiletto for my logo. What do you think?

Just kidding. Did you know Clutter Kicker provides free donation drop off? When I leave your home, I fill my car with your donations and drop them off on your behalf. One less thing for you to do, leaves your space clear, and prevents you from changing your mind and digging through:)

These beauties came from a client, but I had to try them on before donating them. 👠

Making lives better, one linen closet at a time.😍

Perhaps that sounds a bit dramatic, but I really do believe that an organized closet makes your life better. Less overwhelming to open the door, easier to find what you need when you need it, and helpful labels to minimize thinking😊

If your closet can use a little clutter kicking, reach out soon⌛️! I’m raising my rates after September 1 and already booking into November.

Back to School Edition!

Please: Shop from last year’s unused - or still perfectly fine - school supplies before you go head out to the store to buy new items. I know my kids had some spiral notebooks that only had a page or two written in them! And does your student really need brand new crayons every year?

And while we’re being less-cluttery, more efficient, and even thrifty, perhaps wait a week or two to confirm that your student really needs every item on the list!

I always say that maintenance is part of the organizing process. We last organized this bedroom three years ago. That’s some impressive upkeep before needing a tune up!

TGIF! It's time for Lauren's Free Advice Friday...

If you're moving someone special into a college dorm (or first apartment) these next few weeks, be ready with some essentials to clean, unpack, organize, and be prepared for the unexpected!

My mom bag contains:
1. Paper towels
2. Clorox wipes
3. Scissors/box cutter
4. Duct tape
5. Command hooks
6. Thin hangers
7. Door stop
8. Hand sanitizer
9. Water and snacks…enough to share with new friends!
10. A note to leave under the pillow:)

FYI for students: It may be tempting to buy all of the things on all of the lists or that all of the other people are buying. But there's plenty of time. Try to live with the basics, and then reassess.

👉 Did I miss anything, parents? Suggestions welcome in the comments!

It’s not just about how a space looks, but how it makes you feel!

Thank you, Lisa, for taking the time to write this🙏❤️😊

“I cannot recommend Clutter Kicker enough! I was completely overwhelmed by my messy closet and had no idea where to start. Lauren and her team came in with a positive, upbeat and judgement-free attitude that instantly put me at ease. They helped me make quick decisions on what to keep, and what to donate, and completely transformed my space. Getting dressed is now an absolute joy instead of a chore. If you need help taking back control of your space, call them!”

Today we're going to Kick the Clutter Off Your Home Screen!

Your phone may be tiny, but that doesn’t mean it can’t get cluttered. If your home screen looks like a game of app Jenga, it’s time for a little digital decluttering. 😉

Create some order with folders:

👉 Find two apps that belong together — Social, Health, Travel, Finance, Food, etc.

👉 Press and hold your thumb on one app until the icons start to jiggle.

👉 While still holding it, drag the app directly on top of another app you want to group with it.

👉 Voila! Your iPhone will automatically create a folder.

👉 Tap the folder to give it a name, then keep dragging related apps into it.

A less cluttered phone screen = one less place for your brain to feel overwhelmed. And yes, digital clutter counts as clutter, too! 📱✨
