You can feel the energy in this photo.

At Eastern Shawnee Companies, when we win, we gong. šŸ”” And this moment captured during today’s ESC Connection — our monthly all-hands meeting — was a celebration of another win for Team ESC.

The timing couldn’t be better. As we head into the final stretch of the federal fiscal year, government spending season is in full swing, opportunities are moving quickly, and our team is ready.

The excitement in the room today was palpable — and it carried through to those joining us remotely. There’s something special about working alongside people who love what they do, respect one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and genuinely have fun doing the work.

That culture matters. It fuels the responsiveness, collaboration and commitment we bring to every customer and every opportunity.

And right now, Eastern Shawnee Companies is ready to deliver.

As agencies look to move quickly and effectively at fiscal year-end, make ESC your premier 8(a) option for sole-source opportunities. Bring us the requirement. We’ll bring the team, the capability — and hopefully another reason to ring the gong.

Let’s finish federal buying season strong!

We’re excited to be at the 2026 Tribal Lands & Environment Forum (TLEF) this week alongside our teaming partner, Reagan Smith, Inc.!

Eastern Shawnee Companies looks forward to connecting with Tribal environmental professionals, leaders, partners, and agencies from across Indian Country to share ideas, build relationships, and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Tribal lands and communities.

Together with Reagan Smith, our team is highlighting capabilities in environmental investigation and remediation, GIS and geospatial services, infrastructure assessment and planning, natural resources, and environmental compliance.

If you’re attending TLEF, stop by and meet our team! We’d love to learn more about the work happening in your community and explore how we can support your goals.

šŸ“¦šŸ« A box filled with Oklahoma-made happiness has arrived at ESC!

We ordered a special delivery from BedrĆ© Fine Chocolate for an upcoming event hosted by the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma next month—and judging by the reaction around the office, keeping these chocolates under wraps until then may be our biggest challenge. šŸ˜„

Naturally, our staff felt it was important to conduct an immediate quality control test. We’re pleased to report that BedrĆ© is every bit as delicious as we remembered. Tough job, but someone had to do it!

We especially love being able to share something made in Oklahoma—the home of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma—at an upcoming ESTO event. It’s a sweet way to celebrate an Oklahoma-made product while treating the Tribal community to something special.

If BedrĆ© isn’t already on your radar, we highly recommend checking them out and discovering a little Oklahoma-made chocolate goodness for yourself. šŸ«

Thank you, BedrĆ© Fine Chocolate, for making our event preparations a little more delicious! šŸ«ā¤ļø

Eastern Shawnee Companies was proud to participate in the 20th Annual Shawna Stovall Children's Back-to-School Powwow, hosted by the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. This incredible event brought families together to celebrate culture, community, and the excitement of a new school year with youth dance contests, cultural activities, family-friendly fun, and a school supplies giveaway for local students.

A special thank you to Matt and Cathy Metcalf and Janae Levier for representing ESC at this year's event and helping distribute hand sanitizer to students and families as they prepared for the upcoming school year.

We're grateful to the Eastern Shawnee Tribe for hosting such a meaningful tradition that invests in youth, celebrates their heritage, and brings their community together. Wishing all of the students a safe, successful, and exciting school year ahead!

We're excited to see our joint venture highlighted!

We're proud to partner with Affinis through Eastern Shawnee-Affinis JV (ESA JV), combining tribal-owned leadership with decades of experience in civil engineering, environmental, planning, and technology solutions. Together, we're delivering responsive, high-quality infrastructure and environmental services that help our clients achieve mission success. We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside such a respected partner!

Affinis was built on long-lasting relationships. In fact, our co-workers are always thinking about how they can make a colleague or client's life easier. That mindset has influenced how we've grown over the last 25 years.

In 2018, we create the Ad Astra Collaborative, a joint venture (JV) with Vireo and Water Resources Solutions. Then, six years later, we entered into a JV-Partnership with Eastern Shawnee Companies to form the Affinis-Eastern Shawnee Joint Venture. We continued to deepen our relationship with Freese and Nichols, Inc. when we formed a new small business JV, Affinis Freese and Nichols JV, last year. Each partnership has allowed us to expand our capabilities, extend our services, and move new communities forward. Learn more about each one here: https://loom.ly/zOg_mcA

We're honored to share this meaningful story highlighting the return of land adjacent to the Great Serpent Mound into Shawnee stewardship—a significant milestone for cultural preservation and the enduring connection between the Shawnee people and their ancestral homelands.

The article includes thoughtful remarks from Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma's Chief Glenna Wallace on the importance of protecting places that hold deep cultural and historical significance for future generations.

We invite you to take a few moments to read this inspiring story and learn more about this historic achievement.

People often ask why we selected the sites we did for Rock Art: An American Story. There isn’t a single answer to that question – and usually it’s a combination. Sometimes it’s the grandeur or location of a site, sometimes it’s the site’s intriguing imagery, sometimes it’s because we h...

It was a great pleasure to be able to hear from tribal partners at the Summer Solstice today. Chief Glenna Wallace (Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma) and Chief Ben Barnes (Shawnee Tribe) spoke to visitors about the history of their tribes. We were lucky to catch this photo of Chief Wallace from the Solstice sunset.

🐱 Happy Meow Monday! 🐱

CEO Matt Metcalf spent part of his morning onboarding our newest summer intern, Oswald. Early reports indicate Oswald is highly engaged, asks excellent questions, and accepts payment exclusively in treats.

Fellow intern Stanley has taken a slightly different approach to professional development and is currently focused on monitoring outdoor operations from the office window. Spreadsheets remain low on his priority list.

Before anyone asks: Bertie has reviewed their applications and would like everyone to know that her position is not in jeopardy. While Oswald and Stanley show promise, neither has demonstrated the leadership skills, office presence, or executive-level napping capabilities required to challenge the reigning Chief Morale Officer.

We're still evaluating their long-term career paths, but one thing is certain—they've already become valuable members of the ESC team.

Welcome aboard, Oswald and Stanley! 🐾
