Free Chipping Days return September 8–10 for Paso Robles residents in qualifying Fire Hazard Severity Zones. Use the Labor Day weekend to trim overgrown trees and brush, then the San Luis Obispo Fire Safe Council will pick up, chip and haul away the vegetation—at no cost to you.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Paso Robles through Friday. Along with high temperatures, there is a high risk of heat illness for most people, especially those sensitive to heat.

The City has cancelled some programs due to heat, and will consider closing athletic fields as temperatures rise. Our local NWS forecast office shares these safety tips:

🌡️Limit outdoor activities during the afternoon hours.
🌡️Seek air conditioned spaces.
🌡️Stay hydrated.
🌡️Check the back seat for kids & pets.
🌡️Check in on the elderly.

Your Paso Robles Firefighters continue to support the wildfire mutual aid system across California. Captain/Paramedic Virgil, Engineer Jennings, Firefighter Lindstrom, and Firefighter/Paramedic Levine deployed to the Gann Fire in Calaveras County on Engine 8163 with our friends from SLO County Fire, Morro Bay Fire, Cambria Fire, and Templeton Fire.
Our members are proud to support our fire service partners and communities throughout the state while strengthening skills to benefit our community back home in Paso Robles. As always, all fire stations in our community remain fully staffed and ready to respond.

🚨 Fireworks are prohibited within the City of Paso Robles.

With dry vegetation and elevated fire danger, ANY fireworks can quickly ignite a devastating wildfire or structure fire. To protect our community, ALL fireworks—including "Safe and Sane" fireworks—are prohibited within the city limits.

Celebrate responsibly by attending a professional public fireworks display and leave the fireworks to the experts.

🚒 Fire and law enforcement personnel will be actively patrolling throughout the holiday, and fireworks violations will be strictly enforced. Those responsible for illegal fireworks may face citations, fines, and liability for any fire or damages caused.

Help keep Paso Robles safe this Fourth of July. One firework is all it takes.

Today, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services proudly recognizes the dedication, courage, and commitment of wildland firefighters across the nation.

Established in 2022, National Wildland Firefighter Day honors the federal, state, local, Tribal, military, rural, contract, and support personnel who work tirelessly to protect lives, property, and our natural resources.

As we enter the heart of fire season, we extend our sincere gratitude to all wildland firefighters for their selfless service and sacrifice. Thank you for all you do to keep our communities safe.

Our contract vegetation management 🐐 crew has finished mowing down the Eastside Salinas River buffet and is headed to the Westside for seconds! We love our four-legged Firefighters!
