From working winery to dinner party ✨

This past weekend, we pressed pause on harvest and traded hoses and sorting for candlelight and an evening around the table at our annual Winemaker Dinner.

We opened special wines from the cellar (including a bottle of Les Deux Frères from our very first vintage, ten years ago!), enjoyed an incredible menu by Chef Rachel Ponce, and shared plenty of stories along the way. It was an unforgettable night of delicious food, special wines, and even better company.

And because harvest waits for no one, we ended the night the only way that felt appropriate - with a few late-night pumpovers. 🍷

This past weekend, we celebrated the release of the 2024 vintage with some of our favorite people. 🍷

Between the first pours of Origin, Les Deux Frères, Lapsus, and Le Vingt, the incredible pairings from Chef Rachel Ponce, and a room full of familiar faces, it was the perfect way to welcome the 2024 vintage.

A quick flyover of the BENOM Estate Vineyard. 🌿

Summer in the vineyard means long days of shoot positioning, managing canopy vigor, and helping the vines stay balanced as we prepare for harvest.

Although it’s been a relatively mild growing season, we’re expecting harvest to begin a little earlier this year. Before we know it, these rows will be filled with the excitement of picking fruit for the very first time at the BENOM Estate. 🍇

One evening, countless memories. ✨

Last Saturday, we traded Paso Robles for France and Spain at our Les Crus Dinner.

Guests enjoyed 10 incredible wines, five unforgettable courses from Chef Justin Monson of Oak & Vine, and an evening filled with great conversation and new friendships. From Champagne and Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Rioja and Languedoc, each glass offered a glimpse of the people, places, and traditions that inspire us.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us. The wines were exceptional, the food was unforgettable, and the company was even better. 🥂

We recently finished shoot thinning at the Estate vineyard, one of the many important moments in shaping the growth, balance, and future of these young vines. 🌱🍇

In this video, Guillaume walks through the differences in our approach to shoot thinning our Grenache and Chardonnay vines, each guided by the varietal’s character and long-term vision for the Estate. The Grenache is cordon pruned to help channel its natural vigor and energy, while the Chardonnay is cane pruned with a focus on precision, structure, and finesse as the vines develop.

These vines were grafted just last year, making this season especially exciting. Even at this early stage, every decision in the vineyard, every shoot selected and every vine shaped, is helping lay the foundation for the future of the Estate and the wines it will one day produce.

Budbreak is the vineyard’s first awakening after winter, the moment dormant vines come back to life as delicate green shoots begin to emerge. It marks the beginning of a new growing season and the very first chapter of a new vintage. It’s one of the most hopeful times in the vineyard each year.

At our estate vineyard, budbreak arrives a bit later than much of Paso’s west side due to the cooler climate. Right now, there’s a wide range of development across the estate: Chardonnay and Grenache are among the furthest along, while Cabernet Sauvignon is only just beginning to wake. From block to block, the vineyard is beginning to tell the story of the season ahead. 🍃🍇
