Friends, help us meet our goal! The holidays will be here before you know it, and Always This Good has committed to donating 1,000 pounds of food to St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix.

This is one of those simple opportunities to make a real difference close to home. A few pantry items from one person may feel small. Across a community, they add up fast. We’re inviting our friends, clients, partners, and fellow Phoenix businesses to help us reach the goal and support families who need it most.

We're looking for proteins like canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter or other nut butters, canned beans and lentils, grains like brown and white rice, pasta, and oatmeal, canned fruits, vegetables, applesauce, and kitchen basics like cooking oil, broth, and spices.

One of the most misleading phrases in leadership is, “We’re fine.”Sometimes “fine” means the team is clear, aligned, and moving. Sometimes it means everyone is busy, no one wants to slow the meeting down, and the real issue stays buried. That is where leaders get fooled. A packed calendar can look like momentum. Fast replies can look like alignment. Lots of collaboration can look like ownership. Here is the test: if the same issue keeps coming back, the problem is not solved, it is just circulating.

Example: a founder says sales are steady because the team is sending proposals every week. But margins keep shrinking, delivery keeps getting messy, and clients keep asking the same follow-up questions. The issue is not effort. The issue is that pricing, handoff, and client expectations are not actually aligned. Strong leadership is not taking “fine” at face value. It is creating enough visibility to spot the gap between activity and truth.

Busy is not the same as fully utilized. A leadership team can look productive on paper and still leak capacity all day. It happens when approvals stall, people sit in meetings they do not need, and strong employees spend half their week translating confusion for everyone else. That cost rarely shows up on a P&L line. It shows up as rework, slower decisions, preventable tension, and good people ending the day fried without knowing why.

Money responds to clarity more often than we want to admit.
