Here's a question worth answering plainly: if your insurance company agrees your damage is covered but the two of you disagree on what the repair should cost, how does that ever get resolved? Most property policies already contain the answer. The appraisal clause sets out a process with a real finish, where each side chooses an independent appraiser, an umpire is there to break a tie, and a signed written award sets the amount. No lawsuit is required to resolve a number. Ironclad serves as a neutral appraiser or umpire in that process, not a public adjuster. We don't adjust, negotiate, interpret your policy, or settle your claim, and nothing here is legal advice.
More on how the process finishes:
What is an appraisal umpire, and when is one needed? The neutral third party brought in when two party-appointed appraisers can't agree on the amount.
