The official “top to bottom- front to back” Newborn Exam is usually done around two hours after birth and is the first time baby is not skin to skin on mom or dad. They’re placed on a toasty heating pad next to a freshly showered and tucked in momma ❤️

This family has welcomed several babies with LH&H, and we love being part of their story. 💛

From births that went just as expected, to one that came with a safe, healthy, but very unique little surprise — their care has included so many memorable moments. Home visits with hand-drawn pictures for the midwife, an extra-early postpartum stop that involved quietly slipping in through an unlocked sliding door for a quick shot, and, of course, some very strong coffee.

It’s families like this that remind us how special it is to care for people through every version of birth, postpartum, and growing their family. We’re so grateful to be invited back again and again.

Love this family! We met in 2015 when they were expecting their first baby and made it through a marathon posterior birth together 💪 From early morning Famous Toastery after one birth to a 3 a.m. veggie tray after another, picked up by dad at Costco at the first sign of labor because he knew it was one of my favorite birth snacks 💗 they’ve always made birth memories extra special. Two years since their last baby, and so grateful to have caught up over coffee just last week!

An original LH&H family from the very beginning. From a late-diagnosed breech with their first baby to welcoming subsequent babies, we have shared so many memories together. The tornado postpartum, the midwife backing over the well cap at their new house, the Chick-fil-A treats… they truly feel like family ❤️ An amazing couple we’ve had the honor of caring for from baby one through baby five.
