We see a trend in sales that is replicating itself. One that started with the onset of social media, then COVID, now with AI.
When social media for sales started gaining traction, sales people started relying on social posts, blog content, social connections, i.e. Linkedin connections and Facebook friends. Add to this video. All this to "not" have to engage with prospects, live. They want them to "land" on a calendar without human interaction. In some cases that happens. COVID hit and many went to zoom meetings, email conversations and phone calls. Understandable during that era. We had to adapt.
Now with AI, we're seeing the continued reliance on tech and avoiding conversations with prospects. New sales people are coming in with a "lazy" mindset and want AI to do all the work. AI can't do it yet. It may or may not get there in the future.
The customer is getting fatigued with AI customer service systems, chat bots, zoom meetings, social post, their smart phones and at times email. They want to speak and see someone. That's "A live body".
These humans below:
Millennials Born 1981–1996
Generation Z Born 1997–2010
Generation Alpha Born Post 2010
Are coming into the sales workforce with a "let tech" do the sales work. AI is a tool, just like zoom, video, chat bots, social, email etc.
Get on the phone or go see the prospect and watch what happens.
