For Sale: Singer 221 Featherweight – Partial Blackside

Up for sale is a very unique Singer 221 Featherweight, serial number AG539***, dated September 19, 1945.

This is a partial Blackside machine, featuring:

* Original Blackside stitch length gauge
* Original Blackside presser foot lever
* Several other Blackside parts and attachments
* Standard Chrome Scroll faceplate

What makes this Featherweight especially interesting is its history. At some point, the machine was sent overseas and returned to Singer for a 220V conversion, receiving a unique Singer service badge stamped on both the motor and controller. The machine has since been converted back to 110V operation for use in the United States, while retaining the original motor casing and overseas conversion badge as part of its story.

The machine is in beautiful condition, runs well, and would make an excellent addition to any Featherweight collection. Its combination of Blackside features and documented overseas conversion history makes it a standout piece that you don’t see often.

Beautiful Singer 221 Featherweight that has been fully serviced and is ready to sew.

The machine is in overall good condition. The bed of the machine has a few cosmetic flaws that were touched up (please see photos). Despite these imperfections, it presents nicely and sews as a Featherweight should.
