Hey, locals! Take advantage of this great event on Aug. 1. Clear the clutter responsibly! 🌎

Anyone from any nearby town can bring electronics, batteries, papers, books, clothing/textiles and shoes to the Kane County Recycling Event at South Elgin Public Works (August 1 from 9am-Noon) regardless of condition!

FOR THIS POST, we'll focus solely upon the old shoes, skimpy shirts and fraying towels gathering in the back of the closet.

ACCEPTED ITEMS: Clothing, Shoes, Textiles & Accessories (clean and dry). This includes underwear, towels, pillow cases, table cloths, etc. Accessories such as purses, wallets, bags, belts, hats, scarves, ties are accepted too! Clothes in wearable or non-wearable condition (rips, holes, missing fasteners, permanent stains, paint marks, bleach damage are all fine); Outerwear in wearable or non-wearable condition is welcome; Shoes of any style, in pairs preferred; Home textiles including sheets, pillow cases, towels, curtains, blankets, duvet covers, tablecloths, cloth placemats & napkins, slip covers in usable and non-usable condition Clean fabric scraps including burp cloths, crafting supplies, etc.

NON-ACCEPTED ITEMS: Anything wet, moldy, or known to carry bedbugs; rags with grease, oil or solvents; car seats and strollers, window blinds; items made from non-woven plastic (e.g. plastic placemats, PVC shower curtains or tablecloths); Carpet, rugs, & carpet padding; Pillows, soft toys, dog toys, etc.

SERIOUSLY? ANY CONDITION?
Yep. Kane Co Recycles will take clothing, apparel and textiles that are not typically resold (underwear, socks, sheets, towels) and items in poor/damaged condition with some limitations. These items are sent to processors and eventually repurposed into rags, carpet padding, upholstery stuffing and other industrial uses.

DON'T FORGET! Beyond the clothing and shoes, this event will also accept electronics, books, paper, batteries and more.

Self-care isn’t always bubble baths and face masks.

Sometimes it’s finally clearing the pile that’s been quietly stressing you out for months.

You deserve a home that supports your peace— not steals it. 💛

Save this as your reminder to do one small thing for yourself today.

POV: You’re at the public pool and someone claims an entire row of chairs with one towel, two flip-flops, a half-empty sunscreen bottle, and a pool noodle… then disappears for an hour. 😂☀️

It’s funny at the pool, but somehow we do the exact same thing at home.

That chair becomes “the clothes chair.”
The kitchen counter becomes “the mail counter.”
The guest room becomes “the everything else room.”

We claim space for things we might deal with later, and before we know it, our home starts feeling as crowded as the pool on a 90° Saturday.

The good news? Unlike pool chairs, there’s no need to save your spot. 😉 Let your home be a place you actually get to enjoy— not just a place where your stuff hangs out.

What’s the one area in your house that’s currently “saving a seat” for clutter? 👇

Decluttering isn’t just my job; it’s genuinely something I’m passionate about. There’s nothing better than helping families clear the chaos, create calm, and give unused items a second life instead of letting them sit untouched. ♻️

Even better? You don’t have to deal with the donation drop-offs yourself. I’ll help you declutter, haul away the donations, and personally drop them off for you. Easy, stress-free, and one less thing on your plate. 💛

Ready to reclaim your space without the overwhelm? Send me a message to book your decluttering session! 🏡

Okayyyy, Instagram friends! I need your help. Talk to me about bulletin boards, biz cards, and fliers! As a passerby through coffee shops, grocery stores, clothing stores, thrift stores, whatever… do you find yourself stopping to check out the community bulletin boards? Do you ever grab business cards when you’re out and about? I’m deciding if I should put another business card order in, but I want to hear from my peeps! 📌
