Imagine getting a phone call that sounds exactly like your boss.

Same voice.
Same tone.
Same urgency.

“Hey, I need you to send this payment right away.”
“Can you text me the verification code?”
“Don’t tell anyone yet, I’m in a meeting.”

Now imagine it’s not actually them.

This is no longer science fiction.

AI-powered voice cloning is becoming so realistic that scammers can now imitate business owners, employees, family members, and even children with just a few seconds of audio pulled from social media videos, TikTok clips, voicemail greetings, or online interviews.

Think about that for a second.

Your voice is now part of your digital identity.
And cybercriminals are learning how to weaponize it.

We are entering an era where seeing is no longer believing…
and hearing is no longer proof.

Small businesses are especially vulnerable because many attacks are built around urgency, trust, and human emotion, not technical hacking.

A fake invoice.
A cloned voice.
A spoofed email.
A rushed employee.

That combination can cost a company thousands overnight.

This is why cybersecurity today is not only an IT problem.
It is a human awareness problem.

At Computer Plus Solutions, we encourage businesses to start creating internal verification procedures NOW:

Verify payment requests verbally
Use multi-factor authentication
Train employees to slow down during urgent requests
Limit sensitive information shared publicly online
Have cybersecurity protection and monitoring in place

Because the next cyberattack may not look like hacking anymore.

It may look like someone you trust.

Call now to connect with business.

A few years ago, most scam messages were easy to spot.Bad grammar. Strange email addresses. Poorly edited fake websites.
Today? That has changed completely.
Artificial Intelligence is now helping cybercriminals create smarter and more convincing scams than ever before. Fake emails can sound professional.

Fraudulent websites can look almost identical to real businesses. Even voice cloning and deepfake videos are becoming easier to create.
What makes this dangerous is that many attacks no longer look “fake.” In fact, some are designed to look so normal that even experienced users can be tricked.

We are entering a time where cybersecurity is no longer only about protecting computers, it’s about protecting people from manipulation.
Small businesses, families, employees, students, and even elderly individuals are all becoming targets because attackers know AI allows them to scale scams faster and cheaper.

The technology itself is not the enemy. AI is incredibly powerful and can help businesses become more productive and efficient. The problem is that bad actors are now using the same tools to steal information, impersonate people, and exploit trust.
That is why awareness matters more than ever.
At Computer Plus Solutions, we believe cybersecurity starts with education, preparation, and proactive protection, because in today’s world, being “careful online” is no longer enough by itself.
The future of cyber threats is already here, and it’s powered by AI.

Most small businesses think cyberattacks only happen to large corporations. Unfortunately, that’s no longer true.

Today, cybercriminals are increasingly targeting small and mid-sized businesses because they know many companies still operate with outdated systems, weak passwords, limited backups, and little to no security monitoring.

And the reality is simple: it only takes one successful phishing email or compromised account to disrupt an entire business.

We’ve seen businesses lose access to files, emails, customer data, accounting systems, and daily operations in a matter of minutes. The financial damage is one thing — but the downtime, stress, and loss of customer trust can be even worse.

Cybersecurity is no longer just an “IT problem.” It’s a business protection strategy.

At Computer Plus Solutions we help businesses across Southern Minnesota strengthen their environments with Microsoft 365 security, backup solutions, endpoint protection, network monitoring, and modern cybersecurity best practices designed to reduce risk and improve business continuity.

The companies that take cybersecurity seriously today are the ones most likely to stay operational tomorrow.

🚨 SMS Codes Are No Longer Enough 🚨
Microsoft is moving away from SMS-based authentication and pushing users toward stronger security methods like passkeys and authenticator apps.

Why?
Because SMS codes can be vulnerable to phishing, SIM-swapping, and account takeover attacks.

At Computer Plus Solutions, we help businesses secure their Microsoft 365 environments with:
✅ Passkeys & MFA
✅ Microsoft Authenticator
✅ Secure business policies
✅ Cybersecurity protection & monitoring
If your business still relies mainly on text-message verification codes, it may be time for a security upgrade.

Most IT providers make money when something breaks.

The right IT partner makes money when nothing breaks.

That’s the difference between reactive IT support and proactive IT management.

At Computer Plus Solutions, our focus is simple:
✔ Prevent downtime
✔ Reduce disruptions
✔ Keep your team productive
✔ Protect your business before issues become expensive

Because when your systems run smoothly, your business performs better.

Imagine waking up one morning and discovering your company’s customer data, employee records, Social Security numbers, or financial information is now sitting in the hands of cybercriminals.

That is the reality many businesses are facing today.

A recent cyberattack involving NYC Health + Hospitals reportedly exposed sensitive data affecting nearly 1.8 million people — including medical records, financial information, and biometric data.

What’s even more concerning is that cybersecurity experts are now seeing attackers use AI to create:
• highly convincing phishing emails
• deepfake impersonation scams
• automated cyberattacks
• advanced social engineering tactics

The truth is:
Most businesses don’t think cybersecurity is important… until after something goes wrong.

At, we help businesses strengthen their:
✅ network security
✅ cloud environments
✅ endpoint protection
✅ backup & disaster recovery
✅ compliance readiness
✅ and overall cybersecurity posture

Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue.

It’s a business survival issue.

Printers: One of the Most Overlooked Security Risks in Business

Most businesses focus heavily on securing computers, servers, and email systems — but one of the most overlooked entry points into a network is often the office printer.

Modern printers are no longer “just printers.” They are full network-connected devices that store data, scan documents, send emails, connect wirelessly, and communicate across your business network.

Unfortunately, many businesses either:

Do not implement proper printer security
Use outdated configurations
Or simply do not know where to begin

This creates serious security and compliance risks.

Think about the type of information that moves through printers every day:

Employee records
Social Security information
HR and termination letters
Medical documents
Financial reports
Internal business documents
Customer information
Contracts and legal paperwork

In many offices, sensitive documents are also left unattended in printer trays or accessible to unauthorized users.

Wireless printing has also become common in modern workplaces. While convenient, improperly secured wireless printing can expose sensitive business data and create another pathway into the network if security best practices are not implemented correctly.

The reality is that many organizations today would struggle to pass a proper security or compliance audit if their printing environment was reviewed.

For industries subject to regulations such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), unsecured printing systems can contribute to compliance failures, data exposure incidents, and costly penalties.

This is one reason why many MSPs charge significant amounts to properly secure printing environments through:

Secure print release
User authentication
Encrypted printing
Network segmentation
Access control policies
Printer hardening
Compliance-focused print management

At Computer Plus Solutions, we believe businesses of every size should have access to secure and affordable printing solutions without excessive enterprise pricing.

Because cybersecurity is no longer just about computers — every connected device matters

A major cybersecurity vulnerability, CVE-2026-20182, with a 10/10 severity score, is affecting Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN environments and has prompted CISA to instruct federal agencies to patch systems within 48 hours due to active exploitation.
This vulnerability could enable attackers to remotely gain administrative access without credentials, posing a substantial threat to enterprise networks and operations. As cyber threats increasingly target network infrastructure, businesses using Cisco SD-WAN should take immediate action to review their environment, ensure systems are updated, monitor for unusual activity, and verify security controls.

At Computer Plus Solutions, we have been focusing on enhancing infrastructure security and proactive monitoring to protect businesses from evolving cyber threats. The importance of staying ahead in cybersecurity cannot be overstated

https://therecord.media/cisa-orders-all-federal-agencies-to-patch-cisco-sd-wan-bug

Cisco released a patch for the vulnerability on Thursday, writing in an advisory that it could “allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass authentication and obtain administrative privileges on an affected system.”

🚨 Cybersecurity Warning for Businesses 🚨

We’re continuing to see an increase in fake Microsoft security popups, phishing emails, and scam phone calls targeting businesses and employees.

These attacks are designed to create panic — making users think their computer has been hacked or infected so they immediately call a fake “support number” or enter sensitive information.

A few important reminders:

❌ Microsoft will NEVER ask you to call a random number from a popup
❌ Do NOT give remote access to unknown callers
❌ Do NOT enter passwords or payment information into suspicious websites
❌ If something feels urgent or unusual, stop and verify first

Many of these attacks look extremely real and are becoming more sophisticated with AI-generated emails, fake login pages, and convincing phone scams.

At Computer Plus Solutions, we strongly recommend businesses implement:

✅ Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
✅ Endpoint Protection & Monitoring
✅ Employee Security Awareness Training
✅ Email Filtering & Threat Protection
✅ Regular Backup & Recovery Testing

Cybersecurity today is no longer optional — especially for small and mid-sized businesses.

If your business would like a security review or help improving your protection strategy, our team is always happy to help.

🚨 In case you missed this, AWS just announced the general availability of AWS Interconnect, multicloud, and honestly, this is a pretty big deal for businesses running across multiple cloud platforms.

For a long time, connecting different cloud providers together has been complicated, expensive, and difficult to manage at scale. This new solution is designed to make that process much simpler, faster, and more secure.

What makes this exciting is that businesses can now create high-speed private connections between cloud environments without having to build complex custom networking solutions from scratch.

Google Cloud is the first supported partner, with Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud expected later this year.

At Computer Plus Solutions, we’re seeing more businesses move toward hybrid and multi-cloud environments every day, especially as companies focus more on security, flexibility, remote work, disaster recovery, and application performance.

The cloud world is evolving fast, and solutions like this are helping make enterprise-level networking more accessible and manageable for growing businesses.

The future is definitely moving toward connected cloud ecosystems rather than relying on just a single provider. 🌐
