Apparently all those years of dad jokes, coaching, unsolicited life lessons, and embarrassing my kids have finally paid off. 😂🏆

Do I think being a good dad comes with trophies? Of course not.

Would I still really like the trophy? Absolutely. 😂

More than anything, I’m incredibly lucky to be Dad to my two boys. They’re the reason I keep trying to be a little better at this job every day.

Apparently someone decided I qualify for a Super Dad contest, so now I need your help proving them right. 😂

Being a dad to these two boys is easily my favorite job. I definitely don’t get it right every day. I lose my patience. I say things I wish I could take back. I make plenty of mistakes.

But I keep trying.

One thing I tell parents all the time is that our goal should be to become better parents than our parents were. Even if you had Mr. Rogers for a dad, you should still try to be better. And I hope someday my boys are better dads than I am!

Until then, I’m going to keep coaching them, embarrassing them, cheering way too loudly, giving unsolicited life lessons, and trying to be a little better dad than I was yesterday. ❤️

Costco. On a Sunday. I’ve made a terrible mistake. 😂

You ever pull into the parking lot, see approximately 47 cars waiting for one parking spot, and think, “You know what? I don’t actually need groceries that badly.”

But I’m already here.

There’s no turning back now.

Why won’t my kid just DO IT?! 😩

Homework. Chores. Getting ready for school. Turning off the screen. Sometimes it feels like we spend half our day reminding our kids to do things they already know they’re supposed to do.

I’ll be presenting Motivating Unmotivated Kids: Practical Strategies for Responsibility, Cooperation, and Independence through Poway Adult School.

We’ll talk about why kids and teens may avoid tasks and, more importantly, practical strategies you can use to:

• Increase cooperation and follow-through
• Build better routines
• Reduce constant reminders and nagging
• Navigate screen-related challenges
• Teach responsibility and independence
• Reduce those everyday power struggles

The goal is for you to leave with strategies you can actually start using at home right away.

A great staff can make a HUGE difference in a child’s day. Giving them the right tools can make an even bigger one. 🙌

I had a great time training the team at Kids’ Care Club Kids' Care Club and sharing practical strategies they can use every day to support positive behavior, increase cooperation, and create an environment where kids can thrive.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is working directly with preschool, daycare, school, and after-school staff. These trainings aren’t about sitting through a lecture. They’re about learning realistic strategies for real situations that staff can start using right away.

Thank you to the Kids’ Care Club team for having me and for being so engaged throughout the training!

True story. Almost every time I go to Bath and Body Works, the super helpful workers always immediately direct me to certain scents😂

As a kid, I always thought the families that had nice soaps were “rich” (funny what we think as kids). To this day it’s still one of the small luxuries I really enjoy. So raise your “Strawberry Melon Shortcake” soaps to living your best life!
