Bolga-Ayia is a beloved Garuni phrase-exemplifying Bolga's cultural pride and is reserved for only the best they have to offer. Our baskets are Bolga-Ayia!

Owner, Sia Yambire, born in 1963 in Burkina Faso, in a small village on the border of Northern Ghana. His ethnic group, Fara- Fara, rich in art, culture and music is neighbor to some of the best weavers in the world. Growing up near the world famous Bolgatana Basket Market in Ghana, he began working with American and European basket buyers eventually leading to him starting his own business in 1995. Sia has traveled from the Bay Area to West Africa annually for over 20 years. Sia continues to expand his wholesale market and offer many of our collectors quality designs at local Farmers Markets in Sonoma County. We welcome you to enjoy these wonderful baskets, hand woven with river grass, and custom finished with goat skin leather handles. The are made to be used and last decades. Both beautiful and useful, they are the perfect gift for every occasion and a must have for every family!

Driving up north today from Sonoma County, through Mendocino County, to Humboldt County for deliveries in Mckinleyville, Arcata and Eureka. I love this road and the breathtaking amount of forest for miles and miles. It is always so soothing, and today with just a touch of rain, the clouds were beautiful.🌧️🌞😍
If you live in Humboldt County you can see a new selection of beautiful baskets at Murphy's Market and Eureka Natural Foods!
