Bolga-Ayia is a beloved Garuni phrase-exemplifying Bolga's cultural pride and is reserved for only the best they have to offer. Our baskets are Bolga-Ayia!

Owner, Sia Yambire, born in 1963 in Burkina Faso, in a small village on the border of Northern Ghana. His ethnic group, Fara- Fara, rich in art, culture and music is neighbor to some of the best weavers in the world. Growing up near the world famous Bolgatana Basket Market in Ghana, he began working with American and European basket buyers eventually leading to him starting his own business in 199

5. Sia has traveled from the Bay Area to West Africa annually for over 20 years. Sia continues to expand his wholesale market and offer many of our collectors quality designs at local Farmers Markets in Sonoma County. We welcome you to enjoy these wonderful baskets, hand woven with river grass, and custom finished with goat skin leather handles. The are made to be used and last decades. Both beautiful and useful, they are the perfect gift for every occasion and a must have for every family!

It's that time of year! Come join us for the annual Easter Egg hunt, Sunday April 5th at the Sebastopol Farmers Market 🐣🐇🐰🥚BOLGA AYIA will be hiding extra treats in our booth display so don't skip us, and if you need a baskets we just received the missing shipment!!!!! Behind the scenes at work this week, picking up a replacement order of Mini Round and U shape baskets from United Cargo💪🏻 laws have changed and prices gone up on all the steps to bring these treasured baskets from Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana. Each basket has made a journey from the weavers hands to yours with the teamwork and effort of many folk.
We are working hard to keep the legacy Sia built alive and strong.
We appreciate all of our customers and thank you for your patience as we navigate the steep learning curve in the last year, both personal and global that affect our small business.

Delta has LOST our shipment of mini U shape and mini round baskets we planned on having 2 weeks ago for spring. Bummer. Eventually we hope they arrive.
