You keep asking for the opportunity.

But are you in position to receive it?

There have been a few times when I wasn’t.

Instead, I was under construction with a half-baked plan that didn’t get off of the landing pad.

Ask yourself:

What unfinished business could keep me from being ready for the job, the raise, the relationship, or the opportunity I say I want?

Then get clear on:

WHY you want it.

WHAT you need to do.

HOW you’re actually going to do it.

The opportunity is only part of the equation.

I’m intentionally implementing processes–sometimes just a simple checklist–so I can do better, and win more often.

You have to be ready when it arrives.

Today at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival, SPANNing the Globe Tours spun the wheel — and out popped **CRYSTAL WRIGHT!**

I came to Martha’s Vineyard for the film festival and apparently I’m leaving with plans to go to FRANCE! 😂

Well, today’s my last day at this house. I came in a couple of days before my crew. In a few hours, I’ll be moving even closer to the city center of Oak Bluffs. C’mon Deena, Darcelle, J. Kevin, and Syreeta. I’m waiting for y’all.
Am I the only one waiting for their crew?

Today was nothing less than magical.
I met Sharmian, a fabulous Sistah who works in the pharmaceutical industry. We became friends in minutes and chatted for another couple of hours.
As I was leaving the restaurant, I heard my name and was overjoyed to get a group hug from two of my former PYP grads; Danielle Lewis and Joy Fennell, out here working together on a project.
Continuing on my journey down circuit Avenue again I hear my name, and there stood the wonderful jojoblush 💋, who I spent the next four hours with.
We made our way to Black Joy Kitchen for dinner via police car when Jojo had to flag the man down because I was about to die of heat stroke from walking in the sun.
It was a good day.

A little trip down memory lane. I met Elka Kovac (photo top right) at this event in 1986.
We became business partners and landed the Kahlúa account with one of our photographers. She taught me everything I know about being a great agent and she showed me the difference between good photography and bad photography.
She became a dear friend, giving me a place to live when I had no options.
She always believed in me.
