Today in music history, we’re celebrating Stevie Wonder’s appearance on “Where the Action Is,” the music variety show created by Dick Clark as a spin-off of “American Bandstand.”

At just 16 years old, Wonder performed his first big hit, “Uptight (Everything’s Alright),” the first song he co-wrote, and the first to earn him two Grammy Award nominations for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. The song’s accompanying album “Uptight” was rushed into production to capitalize on the song’s success and was released by the Motown label in 1966, Wonder’s fifth studio album.

Check out this unbelievable clip of Wonder performing his hit single 60 years ago, and look for other Motown-signed musicians and R&B artists throughout this auction!
