We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Jackilu Mills on Tuesday, September 1st. Jacki made a lasting impact on so many people within Grady and beyond the organization. She cared deeply about everyone she interacted with and brought an amazing, contagious energy wherever she went. She was a dedicated team player who was highly respected by her teams, peers, and colleagues.
Jacki joined our team in 2019 as a Community Manager at Discovery Square. In 2022, she was promoted to Regional Property Manager, and in October 2025, she advanced to Senior Regional Property Manager. In 2024, she was honored as Regional Property Manager of the Year.
Jacki embraced her teams, invested in the people around her, and was an integral part of Grady’s culture. She was always willing to help and brought a spirited sense of competition to everything she did. Whether at company meetings or events, Jacki loved a theme and always fully embraced it. Her teams shared in that enthusiasm, showing up in costume and ready to participate. From rodeo to rock and roll to aloha-themed events, Jacki was all in.
Jacki taught many of us about the Aloha Spirit, a Hawaiian philosophy centered on love, compassion, respect, and unity that guides how people connect with one another. Many people think “aloha” simply means hello, but Jacki showed us that it meant so much more. She embodied the Aloha Spirit in every way.
Jacki was loved and respected throughout the company. Her loss has been deeply felt, and she will forever be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to her family during this unimaginably difficult time.
