This made me laugh the first time I saw it
But the sad part is it’s actually a really uncomfortable truth for a lot of people
Most families inherit clutter
Not because their parents were lazy
Not because they didn’t care
Because the problem slowly grew bigger than their ability to deal with it
And by the time they realized how overwhelming it had become… they were completely stuck
A lot of my clients hire me for one reason alone
They refuse to pass the burden of their belongings onto their kids someday
They don’t want their children standing in a garage like this wondering where to even begin
Trying to grieve their loss, while also drowning in overwhelm
If this hits a little close to home-
Trust me, you’re not alone
And if you’re sitting there quietly shaming yourself thinking you should be able to figure it out on your own…
That’s not the truth either
Organizing and purging an entire home is a massive skill set
Even for professionals, it’s complex
Because it’s not just about stuff
It’s decision fatigue
It’s emotional attachment
It’s guilt
It’s memories
It’s overwhelm stacking on overwhelm until your brain just freezes
That freeze response?
That avoidance?
That’s actually extremely common
Most people aren’t lazy
They’re buried
And when you’re buried inside the problem, it’s almost impossible to see the path out
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is stop trying to tackle it alone
If you need a hand getting started, I’m here
No judgment. Just help.
