π«π NO DRONES IN FIRE ZONES ππ«
Wildfire airspace is a dangerous place for unauthorized drones. When a drone enters an active fire area, firefighting aircraft may be forced to stop operations β delaying critical missions and putting firefighters and the public at risk.
CAL FIRE aircraft fly low, fast, and often in challenging conditions while dropping water, transporting crews, and providing critical support. A drone in that same airspace creates a serious mid-air collision hazard.
This year, we continue to see increased drone activity near emergency operations. One personβs decision to fly can impact an entire firefighting operation.
If you see aircraft working a fire:
β
Keep your drone grounded
β
Stay clear of emergency airspace
β
Never interfere with firefighting operations
If you fly, we canβt.
