Hey everyone!
Many of you are familiar with the Murphy story — the bald eagle who incubated a rock and later fostered two orphaned eaglets. Over the years, people from around the world have suggested that this story should be made into a book, and now that time has come.
I’ve spent the better part of this year working on it, and it’s finally off to the printers. It may still be a few months before I receive the first shipment of 2,000 books, but I’m looking forward to seeing the first proof in a few weeks.
Writing a children's book isn’t just about writing, I came to find out. I had to start a publishing company, register the book with the U.S. Copyright Office, design a new website, create a page to handle online orders, learn new software, and a lot more. It has been fun, exciting, frustrating, annoying, and rewarding.
This book was written to support The World Bird Sanctuary Murphy’s home, with most of the proceeds being donated directly to them.
