Apex residential collection will run on its normal schedule the week of Labor Day. There will be NO service delays.

♻️ Trash & Recycling: Please have your carts out on your normal collection day at your usual time.

📞 Customer Service: Our call centers will be closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day and will reopen Tuesday.

🐻 Bear activity is up — and your trash can can look a lot like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

One of the simplest ways to help? Keep trash secured overnight and wait until the morning of collection to roll your cart out.

If bear-resistant carts are available in your Apex service area, they can add another layer of protection, too. Reach out to your local Apex team to learn more about the options available near you.

♻️ Big changes are coming to residential recycling in Colorado!

Colorado's new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program is expected to expand recycling access across the state and help fund residential recycling services.

As the program rolls out, eligible residential customers can expect:
✅ Residential recycling service at no cost
✅ More information and updates as implementation progresses

We're working behind the scenes to prepare for these changes and will continue sharing updates as more information becomes available.

There was no better place to spend Independence Day than at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Jumpin' & Jammin' Ski Extravaganza, celebrating the incredible ski heritage and community that make Steamboat Springs so special.

🔥 Important Reminder About Battery Safety 🔥

These photos show the aftermath of a recent fire at our landfill that is believed to have been caused by an improperly disposed lithium-ion battery.

Thankfully, no one was injured and the fire was quickly brought under control. But incidents like this are becoming more common and many people don't realize that everyday items like batteries and v**e pens can become serious fire hazards when thrown in the trash.

⚠️ Please DO NOT place these items in your trash or recycling cart:
🔋 Rechargeable batteries
💨 V**e pens & e-cigarettes
📱 Cell phones and tablets
🔧 Power tool batteries
⌚ Smart watches and other rechargeable electronics

When these items are crushed or damaged, they can overheat and ignite—sometimes hours after being disposed of.

How you can help:
✅ Recycle batteries at a designated drop-off location (The Apex SHIFT Center accepts batteries!)
✅ Never place batteries or v**e pens in your trash or recycling cart
✅ If you're unsure how to dispose of something, give us a call—we're happy to help.

The safety of our employees, customers, and communities is our top priority. A few extra moments to dispose of batteries properly can prevent fires and keep everyone safe.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day. We are grateful for their service and for the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.
