Back in 2020, I had the privilege of standing on a TEDx stage. This was a dream I had been carrying for years, and it finally came to fruition in the middle of a global pandemic.
With only a handful of people in the audience, I delivered an idea whose time had come.
When I discovered a study showing that Black median wealth would reach zero by the year 2053, something rose up in me. Because I know who we are. I know our resilience. I know our history. And I refused to accept that as our future.
But I did not want to just name the problem. I wanted to bring the solution.
So on that stage, I laid out four ways we can close the wealth gap, and the world responded. Over 440,000 views later, that message is still reaching people who need it.
