Meet our Summer Data Analytics Intern: Ella Zhao! 🎉

We're thrilled to welcome Ella to the WISE team! Ella is an Applied Mathematics student at Colgate. She will be working with us this summer on data analytics to help us better understand and support the entrepreneurs we serve.

Get to know Ella:

-Where are you from?
Syracuse
-What is your favorite TV show or movie?
Lately, I've been into this reality game show called Keep Running. It has a good mix of fun, humor, and competitiveness. It also helps me keep up with my Mandarin.
-Favorite color?
Hmm… It's hard to pick a specific color. I do like a nice muted blue or green, and black is always a classic.
-What is your coffee (or similar type of drink) order?
I don't order coffee very often, but I can appreciate a good iced caramel macchiato or frappe. I must say I'm more of an energy drink person, and for that, I enjoy the Celsius Cherry Cola flavor.
-Tell us about your pets if you have any
Sadly, I do not have any pets; however, I am a dog person. Love dogs.
-What do you think is your biggest accomplishment so far, professionally or personally?
I think one of my biggest accomplishments is getting into a good university. You'll never know where you'll end up, and things can be quite unpredictable, yet these events are such large milestones, so I will consider it an accomplishment.
-What excites you about WISE?
I'm excited to learn more about the operation of businesses and the analytics that go into it through data. A huge plus is that WISE is an organization dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs and those with limited resources.
-What is one fact about you that surprises people?
I haven't watched many TV shows or movies. People often ask if I've seen something, and the answer is usually nope… you'd be surprised.
-Fun fact: I can be a bit of an artsy person, given time. I like my fair share of arts and crafts, such as diamond painting, Legos, puzzles, crochet, embroidery, charcoal, pastel, and printmaking. I really want to try ceramics/pottery next.
