As we wrap up another incredible Junior Rodeo Finals, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this season a success!

Justice is tenuous!

FINALLY! – Some good news regarding the LA Rodeo Ban.

LA Councilman Blumenfield's proposed ordinance to ban rodeo, in its current form, expires (dies) on July 18th. The Los Angeles City Council is in recess until August 2nd. Blumenfield did not introduce any motion on the final day of the Council session before recess on July 2, a necessary step to extend the life of the proposed ordinance.

There is still the threat that he could introduce new draft ordinance in the upcoming months before he is termed out in December of this year.

Throughout the last 5½ years, Blumenfield has amended his original rodeo ban ordinance multiple times in an attempt to get anything passed that would impact the sport of rodeo in Los Angeles.

The Western Sports Industry Coalition and Western Justice have stood strong against every strategy Blumenfield has thrown at us, we have fought tirelessly over the last 5½ years to protect our western heritage and the sport of rodeo.

Although the fight is not quite over, we can take a deep breath. We see this as a win but we are also on standby, watching for any new moves or motions that will affect rodeo in LA.
