🏔️ THIS is AMPED.

What a weekend at the AMPED Ranch Retreat! 🔥

Doctors, students, spouses, families, and friends came together at Dr. Michael & Tara Viscarelli’s Double Eddy Ranch in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado, for a weekend we won’t soon forget.

We laughed. We learned. We competed. We connected. We spent time in the mountains. And most importantly, we strengthened relationships with people who are committed to something bigger than themselves.

Because AMPED has never been just about building bigger practices.

It’s about building better chiropractors, stronger leaders, deeper friendships, healthier families, and a community united around a shared mission to impact this profession and the world.

There is something powerful about getting away from the day-to-day grind and surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, encourage you, sharpen you, and remind you WHY you started in the first place.

This weekend was exactly that. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Michael Viscarelli and his family for opening up Double Eddy Ranch and creating a place for the AMPED family to come together. And thank you to every single person who traveled from across the country to make this weekend what it was.

The views were unreal.

The memories were even better.

But the COMMUNITY? That’s what makes AMPED different.

🔥 Until next year, Ranch Retreat!

I don’t know if you’ve ever really thought about what D.D. Palmer went to jail for.

In our offices we have a chiropractic history wall. But when I went digging on this I don’t think I knew it either. In 1906, DD was sitting in a jail cell, and he writes, I am not in a cell for lack of principle, but for an abundance of principle.

He wasn’t in there for adjusting anybody. He was in there because he wouldn’t agree to say that by adjusting patients he was practicing medicine without a license

The whole fight was over the words. It still is. It’s just wrapped up in the package of evidence based care and all in the name of acceptance. And it is poured into you one class at a time.

Swipe through this one, guys. Then go find a room where people communicate chiropractic in the way you believe it should be communicated.

Our forefathers and foremothers went to jail so you could communicate chiropractic without being jailed. So don’t spend three and a half years learning about chiropractic care but leave school unable to communicate what it is you are doing.

It’s your turn now.

Somewhere in school you quietly picked up a belief. That to build a real practice, you will have to hand over the years at home to get it. Win the office, lose the life.

AMPED’s mission says the opposite out loud. Massively successful practices balanced with fulfilling personal lives. Not one or the other. Both.

That is not a reward you earn at the end. It is a decision you make now, while the page is still blank, before the habits set. The doctors who have both did not luck into it. They refused the trade early.

Build the practice. Build the life. Refuse to choose.

Chiropractic does not continue because the doctors already in practice are good at it. It continues because someone in the next generation decides to carry it.

That is you. Not someday, once you are licensed and busy and finally feel qualified. Now, while you are still a student.

Will chiropractic even be here for our grandchildren? The answer is not up to the doctors who came before you. It is up to whether your generation picks it up. You are not waiting for permission to matter to this profession. You already do.

Carry it like it is yours. It is.

Nobody tells you that the price of getting good is being bad in front of people first.

Doing anything well is worth doing poorly before you get to the point where you do it well. The adjustment. The consult. The scan review. The first time you explain chiropractic to someone who has never heard of it. You will be clumsy at every one of them before you are smooth.

That is not a detour around growth. That is growth. The students who get good fast are not the naturally gifted ones. They are the ones willing to log the ugly reps in public while everyone else waits to feel ready.

You will not feel ready. Do it badly anyway.

The doctors who make it are not the smartest ones from your class. They are the ones who stopped trying to build a practice by themselves.

Your practice does not start the week your license clears. It starts now, in the rooms you choose to be in or choose to skip. Your student club. Every conference you can get to.

Those rooms are where you pick up ten years of someone else’s wins and scars before you have lived them yourself. They are where you meet the people who will answer the phone on the worst day you have in practice. And as a student, that access costs you almost nothing.

Be early. The town that needs you is already out there.

Real talk for the student who already knows they want their own office.

We had a room full of docs this weekend, and here’s what nobody tells you in school.

You’re not late. The field is thinning, guys. You’re early. And listen, adjusting is the easy part. The fire you’ve got right now is the whole asset, and it leaks the second you stop guarding it.

You don’t have to be ready. Not one office in the room started ready. You build the legs to go the distance through training. Just like the body’s healing, it takes time and repetition. You’re not gifted it.

The hard stuff is coming. The first board complaint. The first lawsuit that isn’t fair. Name it now so it doesn’t level you later. And come on, nobody does this alone.

Here’s the thing that got me. Somewhere there’s a family praying for what you’re about to do, and waiting on you. That’s not a risk. That’s a calling.

Save this. Read it again the day you sign your lease.
We created a document of The 50 things school never taught you and that you need to know in order to be successful. Click the link in our bio to get it.

The biggest limitation in your practice isn’t your marketing, your systems, or your team… it’s you.

Dr. Gabriel shares one of the most important leadership lessons every future chiropractor needs to hear:

Your practice will never outgrow you.

So many doctors spend years building better systems for their business while neglecting the systems that build themselves.

Here’s the reality:

Personal problems eventually become business problems.

If you keep solving the same business challenge over and over again, it may not be a business issue at all—it may be revealing something deeper.

Growth starts from the inside out.

That means investing in:
âś… Your spiritual life
âś… Your physical health
âś… Your daily disciplines
âś… Your relationships
âś… Your emotional health
âś… Your mindset

The healthier you become, the healthier your leadership becomes.

And the healthier your leadership becomes, the healthier your practice becomes.

Don’t just build a successful business.

Build the person capable of leading one.

Because your patients deserve your best—and that starts long before you ever walk into the office.

People don’t stay because of transactions. They stay because they belong.

One of the biggest mistakes chiropractors make is building a practice around symptom relief alone.

Think about it…

If someone gets the result they wanted, they leave.

If they don’t get the result they wanted, they leave.

That’s the nature of a transactional relationship.

But practices that thrive for decades aren’t built on transactions.

They’re built on belonging.

Dr. Tyler Schwanz challenges students and doctors alike to stop thinking about relationships as “What can I get?” and start asking, “How can I build something that lasts?”

That starts long before you open your doors.

Showing up to club.
Being committed.
Going deep instead of wide.
Investing in people—not just opportunities.

Because the same way you build relationships today is the same way you’ll build your practice tomorrow.

People can tell when you’re only around until you’ve gotten what you wanted.

But they’ll never forget how you made them feel when they knew they truly belonged.

Build community.
Build trust.
Build relationships that outlast the transaction.

That’s how you build a practice that changes lives for generations.
