Just over a week ago, the chiropractic profession and the AMPED family lost a dear friend. Today, we remember and honor Mark Lewis, Vice President of Sales at Platinum, who went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2026.

A man of faith.
A man of principle.
A partner who served the doctors who serve.

For more than 22 years at Platinum, Mark walked alongside chiropractors. He wasn't a chiropractor himself, but he believed in Principled Chiropractic and showed up for it, year after year.

He was consistent.
He was kind.
He was always smiling.

His legacy isn't only in the software that he sold, but it lives in the young doctors he encouraged, in the practices he helped build, and in the relationships he never stopped showing up for.

We will miss seeing Mark's smiling face at AMPED conferences, his engagement with our community, and the lasting impact he made on our profession.

May we serve the way he served!

Serve with consistency.
Lift up the next generation.
Stand for the principle.

People aren’t leads.

It’s easy to become obsessed with the marketing funnel.

Where are new practice members coming from?

How do we get more people through the door?

How do we improve conversion?

How do we grow?

Those things matter. But Dr. Mitch Borgman reminds us that there’s something more important you need to learn first:

How to connect with people.

Before someone trusts your recommendations, they need to trust YOU.

That starts with listening.

Meeting people where they are.

Understanding what matters to them.

Building a real relationship instead of trying to force them into the box you created for your practice.

Especially as a student, don’t get so focused on learning how to market that you forget to learn how to connect.

Because the goal isn’t simply getting more people through the door.

It’s serving the person standing in front of you at a level they’ve never experienced before.

Learn THAT skill, and you’ll carry it with you for your entire career.

Too soft? Too strong?

It’s a tension a lot of women in chiropractic wrestle with—often quietly.

You’re called to lead.

To be confident.
To make hard decisions.
To set boundaries.
To carry responsibility.
To lead your team and your practice.

But you’re also wired to care deeply.

To listen.
To connect.
To notice what others miss.
To be present for the people around you.

Somewhere along the way, it can start to feel like you have to choose between the two.

Dr. Jessica Harden reminds us that great leadership isn’t found at either end of that spectrum.

It’s knowing when the moment requires strength and firmness—and when it requires patience, compassion, and presence.

You can be strong without becoming hard.

And you can lead with softness without sacrificing your strength.

But trying to navigate every season of leadership alone is exhausting.

That’s why community matters.

Not a community that tells you exactly who you’re supposed to be, but one that gives you space to grow into the woman, chiropractor, leader, wife, mother, friend, and person you’re becoming.

Different seasons will require different versions of you.

If the principle isn’t clear in chiropractic school, that confusion can follow you straight into practice.

Technique matters.

Clinical experience matters.

But neither replaces a clear understanding of WHY chiropractic exists and what should guide the decisions you make.

When everything becomes symptom-focused, it’s easy to start chasing whatever problem is directly in front of you.

Then the harder questions come:

“How long will this take?”

“Why am I still experiencing this?”

“Can chiropractic help me?”

“What exactly are we trying to accomplish?”

Without a foundation, those conversations can feel confusing.

But when you’re grounded in chiropractic principle, you have something deeper to stand on.

You understand it first.

You teach your team.

Then you communicate it clearly to the people you serve.

Whether you’re caring for a handful of people in student clinic today or hundreds in your community someday, clarity in practice starts with clarity in principle.

Don’t wait until graduation to figure out what you believe.

Build the foundation now.

🏔️ THIS is AMPED.

What a weekend at the AMPED Ranch Retreat! 🔥

Doctors, students, spouses, families, and friends came together at Dr. Michael & Tara Viscarelli’s Double Eddy Ranch in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado, for a weekend we won’t soon forget.

We laughed. We learned. We competed. We connected. We spent time in the mountains. And most importantly, we strengthened relationships with people who are committed to something bigger than themselves.

Because AMPED has never been just about building bigger practices.

It’s about building better chiropractors, stronger leaders, deeper friendships, healthier families, and a community united around a shared mission to impact this profession and the world.

There is something powerful about getting away from the day-to-day grind and surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, encourage you, sharpen you, and remind you WHY you started in the first place.

This weekend was exactly that. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Michael Viscarelli and his family for opening up Double Eddy Ranch and creating a place for the AMPED family to come together. And thank you to every single person who traveled from across the country to make this weekend what it was.

The views were unreal.

The memories were even better.

But the COMMUNITY? That’s what makes AMPED different.

I don’t know if you’ve ever really thought about what D.D. Palmer went to jail for.

In our offices we have a chiropractic history wall. But when I went digging on this I don’t think I knew it either. In 1906, DD was sitting in a jail cell, and he writes, I am not in a cell for lack of principle, but for an abundance of principle.

He wasn’t in there for adjusting anybody. He was in there because he wouldn’t agree to say that by adjusting patients he was practicing medicine without a license

The whole fight was over the words. It still is. It’s just wrapped up in the package of evidence based care and all in the name of acceptance. And it is poured into you one class at a time.

Swipe through this one, guys. Then go find a room where people communicate chiropractic in the way you believe it should be communicated.

Our forefathers and foremothers went to jail so you could communicate chiropractic without being jailed. So don’t spend three and a half years learning about chiropractic care but leave school unable to communicate what it is you are doing.

It’s your turn now.

Somewhere in school you quietly picked up a belief. That to build a real practice, you will have to hand over the years at home to get it. Win the office, lose the life.

AMPED’s mission says the opposite out loud. Massively successful practices balanced with fulfilling personal lives. Not one or the other. Both.

That is not a reward you earn at the end. It is a decision you make now, while the page is still blank, before the habits set. The doctors who have both did not luck into it. They refused the trade early.

Build the practice. Build the life. Refuse to choose.

Chiropractic does not continue because the doctors already in practice are good at it. It continues because someone in the next generation decides to carry it.

That is you. Not someday, once you are licensed and busy and finally feel qualified. Now, while you are still a student.

Will chiropractic even be here for our grandchildren? The answer is not up to the doctors who came before you. It is up to whether your generation picks it up. You are not waiting for permission to matter to this profession. You already do.

Carry it like it is yours. It is.

Nobody tells you that the price of getting good is being bad in front of people first.

Doing anything well is worth doing poorly before you get to the point where you do it well. The adjustment. The consult. The scan review. The first time you explain chiropractic to someone who has never heard of it. You will be clumsy at every one of them before you are smooth.

That is not a detour around growth. That is growth. The students who get good fast are not the naturally gifted ones. They are the ones willing to log the ugly reps in public while everyone else waits to feel ready.

You will not feel ready. Do it badly anyway.
