This has been an incredibly devastating week for our family as we said goodbye to our sweet boy, Sawyer. We are so deeply touched and grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from this community—it truly means the world to us. Many people have asked, 'What do you need?' Honestly, I don’t even know. As a mom, you realize that when you have a child, your heart lives outside your body. As they grow and become stronger and more independent—you don’t think about how scary it is having a piece of your heart walking around on the outside of your body as much. When something like this happens, it feels like that piece is missing. I keep thinking about a book I used to read to my kids, and it reminds me of how much love surrounds him, even now. He is so loved and so missed.
