Eddie, an 18yr old orange tabby cat finally went back home recently. ๐Ÿงก His skeleton was left disarticulated but every single bone is accounted for, neatly bundled and labeled, his cute whiskers included.

Eddie was this families second memorial commission through RD; I am so thankful for the wonderful people who find me and are patient through the lengthy process of quality bone cleaning and the care that goes into ensuring their beloved pets are treated properly during their final journey.

Glad to finally see Eddie back home. ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŒป

Memorial for Merlin, a very loved 17yr old kitty. ๐Ÿฉถ From their owner, โ€˜Sometimes grouchy, but always sweet, loving, and eager for pets. The loudest purr ever heard. Still wily even as an old man.โ€™ ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›
Always an honor to help create personalized memorials; most of the goodies you see, rocks, dice, photo and even some of the dried foliage, all came with him to be added into his final resting place. Each bit holding its own memory for his family. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ“ธ
The rest of Merlin was cremated & a hand crafted ceramic urn was created for him by his owners. Forever loved little man. ๐Ÿฉถ

Sometimes you spend 6hrs creating a beautiful scene with fragile natural materials.. & then fumble it while securing the glass dome and break part of it.. ๐Ÿฅด ๐Ÿ’ฉ! Sadly the cocoon was a total loss, a few other bits as well.. but I will say for literally dropping to a tile floor, it could have been a lot worse for damage!
Thankfully I got photos before the fall.. the last photo showing the dome is what it currently actually looks like, still beautiful, just lacking a few of the original details sadly.
This piece was completed over winter but is available for in person purchase at a few upcoming events! ๐Ÿ’€

Hi again everyone! Long time no post, life has been hectic with big changes, but things are settling into to a new normal..
So hereโ€™s a beautiful Asian forest scorpion dome display that was finished over winter. ๐Ÿฉถ
The scorpion was a donated pet & all accompanied decorative bits were foraged and preserved myself, no fake or plastic here! ๐Ÿฆ‚๐Ÿ‚

An ornate box turtle shell! The partial scutes were intentional, to show the actual bone structure underneath. I do have the full skeleton, but for now the shell itself is used during public education events! ๐Ÿข
These are a protected native species; but this specific individual was a captive bred pet who lived a wonderful life & donated to me several years ago after their passing.

๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒผ I love this piece! Here we have a beautiful large center scute, adorned with dried flora, flowers and other unique natural materials. Long ago, a large sulcata tortoise was donated after her passing; being this tortoise was 100lb+, I was a bit out of my depth back then & the shell ended up falling apart during my attempts to clean it. The scutes, the top layer of keratin that grows on top of the bone itself, mostly fell off as well.
Itโ€™s pretty dang rare that not a single bone makes it into my art.. what do you think of this piece?! ๐Ÿข More scute pieces to come!
