Part-Time Unarmed School Safety Officer | $17-$19/hr | Mon/Thu/Fri | 7:30 AM-1:30 PM

Overview
Arizona Preventive Crime Unit (APCU) is seeking a professional and dependable **Unarmed School Safety Officer** to provide a visible security presence at a private faith-based school.
This is not a static security position. You'll spend your shift actively patrolling campus on foot and by golf cart, interacting with students, faculty, parents, visitors, and vendors while helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional learning environment.
This is a part-time position working Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
**Pay:** **$17.00 to $19.00 per hour**, depending on experience.

Minimum Qualifications
* Active Arizona Unarmed Security Guard License
* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
* Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
* Professional appearance and strong communication skills
* Comfortable working in a professional school environment and on the campus of a faith-based educational institution
* Must possess an unarmed duty belt equipped with:
* Baton
* OC Spray
* Flashlight
* Handcuffs
* Willing to obtain Armed School Safety Officer certification in the future for cross-assignment opportunities at other APCU school locations
Primary Responsibilities
* Conduct highly visible foot and golf cart patrols throughout campus.
* Inspect gates, fencing, and perimeter access points to ensure they remain secure.
* Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, and policy violations.
* Monitor visitor activity and professionally direct visitors to the school office for check-in and assistance.
* Build positive working relationships with school administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and vendors.
* Help maintain a calm, welcoming, and secure learning environment through professional presence and proactive patrol.
* Respond appropriately to emergencies and security concerns in accordance with APCU policy and school procedures.
* Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, and other required documentation before the end of each shift.
Physical Requirements
Applicants should expect to:
* Spend the majority of each shift outdoors.
* Walk and stand for extended periods.
* Frequently enter and exit a golf cart while conducting patrols.
* Work comfortably in Arizona weather conditions throughout the school year.
Preferred Qualifications
The following are preferred but not required:
* Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or customer service experience.
* CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
* Strong verbal communication and conflict de-escalation skills.
* Experience working around children or in educational settings.
