As we approach ANZAC Day this Saturday, we take a moment to acknowledge all those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the more than 103,000 Australians who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, along with the families who carry that legacy.

As a veteran-owned and operated business, and an employer of veterans, we are proud of the service our people have given, and the contribution they continue to make today. Through Keltus, that experience is carried forward in the delivery of resilience, leadership, and team cohesion training in support of those still serving.

Lest we forget.

Your people are your greatest asset.

Invest in them, and they will deliver when it matters most.

Five weeks after practicing breathing techniques on the floor of a syndicate room, Keltus Managing Director Dan Fussell was being shot at.

This clip from the Soldier On Australia podcast touches on an experience that went on to shape Dan’s career in the Australian Army and ultimately led to the creation of Keltus.

The Army spends a lot of time teaching soldiers to move, shoot and communicate. They spend less time ensuring they can do those things when someone is shooting back.

To be clear, the theory is strong and the Army teaches stress management well.

But there is often a gap between understanding stress and operating effectively while experiencing it.

Dan recalls one of those sessions before deployment.

Participants lay on the floor of a syndicate room practicing breathing drills for fifteen minutes, then went straight back into the lecture theatre.

Five weeks later applying those skills was a lot harder.

There is a reason this saying exists:

You don’t rise to the occasion.
You sink to the level of your training.

The Army understands this principle everywhere else.

We don’t expect soldiers to fire their weapon for the first time on operations.
We don’t expect them to conduct their first section attack in combat.

That gap between theory and application is where experiential training becomes incredibly valuable.

When people are placed into stressful situations where their decisions have real consequences and teammates depend on each other, they get the opportunity to practice regulating their response.

This is the gap Keltus was built to address.

Keltus takes the principles the military already teaches; leadership, stress management, communication and decision making under pressure, and places people into controlled environments where those skills must be applied in real time.

The ADF already produces exceptionally trained soldiers. Experiential training simply ensures those skills are still accessible when the pressure is real.

Our Managing Director, .fussell sat down with Paul Singer to be part of the Saluting Their Service - Contemporary Voices of Bravery podcast.

This is a great insight as Dan speaks candidly on his experiences that led to his passion and vision to found Keltus, a business built to help people and teams perform under pressure.

Here’s how you build a team that supports each other when times get tough. You give them the opportunity to get to know each other outside the office and form their relationship with a focus on trust and support. Then watch them shine.

Recently, our Managing Director, .fussell, joined the Veteran Business Community Podcast to discuss the foundations of performance under pressure, and why resilience needs to be continually trained, not taken for granted.

A thoughtful discussion with Pete Liston and the VBC team.

You don’t rise to the occasion.⁣
You sink to the level of your training.⁣

Fear and stress show up differently for everyone. Hesitation, elevated heart rate, doubt at the edge.⁣

That isn’t failure.⁣
It’s human.⁣

What matters is not the reaction itself, but learning how to recognise it and regulate the response that follows.⁣

soldiers are already highly skilled in how to move, shoot, and communicate.⁣
The challenge is employing those skills when pressure and fear are imposed, not simulated.⁣

That’s why this training exists.⁣

What you’re watching is repeatable resilience training being facilitated within Brigade environments, delivered at scale by committed teams who own the capability.⁣

Credit to the people leading that work on the ground, including Chris Lunt 7th Brigade - Australian Army and Michelle Griffith 1st Brigade - Australian Army, whose coordination and ex*****on make this training real and accessible for soldiers.⁣

The pathway to resilience cannot be assumed.⁣
It must be trained.

Back into it for 2026!

Keltus is back on the ground after a short reset and we’re looking ahead to a busy year supporting teams across Australia.

Already on the cards for the months ahead:
✅ Corporate leadership programs focused on decision-making, trust and team effectiveness.
✅ Team cohesion and resilience training with the
✅ Performance under pressure programs supporting high-performance sporting environments.

All have different contexts but the same fundamentals.
It’s about how people lead, communicate and perform when conditions are uncertain or the pressure mounts.

If 2026 is a year where your organisation is thinking seriously about , or under pressure, there is still limited availability in the calendar.

Another big step for the team!⁣

Now supporting resilience training within another Brigade of the 1st Division .⁣

After four courses with the 7th Brigade - Australian Army, we’ve just finished our first Single Pitch Artificial Surfaces Abseiling and Climbing Course with the 1st Brigade - Australian Army in Darwin.⁣

Five days. Four of skills, one of assessment. Soldiers learning to run abseiling and climbing safely, and to use these environments to build trust, teamwork, and confidence under pressure.⁣

It’s about more than rope work. It’s about learning how to recognise fear and stress, then apply deliberate techniques to manage them and perform when it counts.⁣

That’s resilience training in action. Practical, challenging, and built for real-world performance.⁣
